Garvin to the

One of the better scheme fits for him. He'll stand up and just get after the passer. Smith Bros did a great job there, but there isn't much depth behind them. He'll likely see a lot of competition with UFDA types, etc, but...he's got a path to a roster spot.

Garvin tested out as a very similar athlete to the DE the Panthers took at the top of the 2nd round.

He is where he is because he coasted last year.
Great thing is we going to find out in the league, I hope he does well man

He had a very mediocre junior season. He should have come back. Too many lackluster moments on film to declare for the draft.

Garvin made a mistake declaring early. It showed his immaturity. However, he was asked to do things that hurt his draft stock in 2019. He was asked to spy Franks against UF in a huge showcase . He was asked to do the same against other opponents. He was doubled in other games before Rousseau got snaps. Garvin is an absolute steal in the 7th round. Congrats to the Packers on this one. Garvin is gonna be a stud.

Why come back? Why couldn’t he have performed as a junior when he planned to come out? Coming back accomplished nothing. He took the season off and got exactly what he earned from the nfl.

Garvin also disappeared for most of last year and this past year.

Even with Greg dominating he still couldn’t ramp it up and steal some sacks or TFL

I don’t know the kid personally but it’s been said that most sacks are a hustle stat.. and let’s be honest kid didn’t seem to have that dawg in him.

Garvin is very fortunate they need him as a rotational player...he will get a chance to prove himself....

Came back for what, his stock is where he would be. He wasnt going to turn into a better player..........Greg Rosseau is projected higher cause of intangibles.
Fam you better than that. Nothing intangible about being 6’7 and being top 5 in the nation in sacks. Kid is a freak athlete WITH the productivity.

Play like he did his Sophomore year. More snaps on film.

Intangibles? Unlike Garvin, Rousseau's production is through the roof. With his measurables, he will go Top 10 next year. It is a throwing league and this kid rushes the passer.

Hopefully he sticks there. That frozen tundra will be nothing nice in November/December.

I mean it as in if GR has four sacks next season he will still be a high pick imo

Jon Garvin should be the poster child for Miami players who make their mind up before the season they are going pro, and then play to protect themselves or save themselves for the NFL draft.

Garvin has enough athleticism, flexibility, ability to bend the edge, if matched with similar sophomore year production could’ve earned him at least a 3rd round selection maybe even higher.

Garvin was pathetic most of this year, then all of a sudden decided he needed something on tape so he plays up to his talent in the Duke game, and was awesome.

he could’ve Boosted his draft stock dramatically had he returned and got after it.

He has the physical tools and traits, but not the production this past year.

I do think he will greatly outperform his draft spot.

Garvin was drafted on what he “should be” he should be a average starting DE in the NFL

he fell because he was doo-doo production wise

This is a good point. However, it does depend on GR’s all around play. If he has 4 sacks but double digit TFL and a good amount QB pressures he will still go high. There is a lot of weight on TFL and QB pressures. This is why Roche is regarded higher than GR in CFB circles. Also, his physical characteristics will be hard for teams to pass up. I believe had Garvin performed better in TFL and QB pressures, he would have been drafted a lot higher, regardless of his low sack count.

Roche looks ordinary to me.....Greg is a monster but we all saw that in his HS tape. Most people loved him but he was raw af....understand as well Bandy Garvin those guys played their best freshman year cause that was the best DL they had. RJ was playing like a man possessed......it's why I would never draft a bama corner.......safeties I'll take corners from there I'll pass.
