Garvin looks slow off the edge

Y'all Lil girls are overbearing. I bet if I took a straw poll with your wives, many of them would describe your marriages as miserable.

Like lil *******.

Save this thread for later too

Patchan and Bethel are just out there it seems. I'm sure they do a good job of doing their job but we have some dudes backing them up who should get a shot.

I’ll give Patchan some credit that he’s slightly better than Bethel but he’s still should be 2nd string at best.

Bethel is the worst starting DT we’ve had in a long time. Where is the DT from Cal?

I remember when this board was trying to tell me that Jon Garvin was way better than Joe Jackson because of his “BeNd bRo” lol haha good times.

He’s naturally a better pass rusher. Jackson was stronger and went non stop but had zero moved

That dude looks slow

His freshman yr he looked explosive off the edge

Idk what happened
There are 3 possibilities:
Garvin rested on his early production and didn't put the work in.
DL coaching is a problem this yr.
He isn't THAT good and took advantage of being priority number #3 for the OLs the last couple of years

Patchan is a JAG, would prefer to play Hill more
Garvin another overhyped "future 1st rounder bro" player who would be lucky to go in the 6th round at this point. Has NO business even considering not coming back for senior year

Maybe it’s only been two games and in one of them he had the assignment of ghosting Franks, which he did beautifully.

There was that one play where their QB gave it to the RB on a delay I believe. Garvin was about 5-10 yards away just to the left of the RB with nobody between them. Their RB blew by Garvin untouched.
But it’s hard to fault Garvin on that one; was just a mismatch in space.

Well to be fair Garvin wasn't that explosive coming out of high school, his balance and high motor is what made him good.

I remember that play. Hasselbeck mentioned Garvin was blocked by the QB's read. Garvin penetrated and was left in no mans land without an LB scrapping in for support.

He was coming in maybe 15 snaps a game as a freshman. Dude is being asked to be an every down DE now. Playing full games not just spot duty.

He isn't 260. And when did he play at 245? Was 230-235 as a freshman. He played last year at 250 and is 255 now.
His exact words this summer were that he was playing at 245 last year and that he was up to 260 so that’s probably more accurate than the roster listing.

This is all coaching imo. Garvin is being asked to do different things and uf and Unc was getting the ball our super quick.
