Games Lashlee called at Auburn.

I like the variations in the in the inside runs. Our problem last year isnt that we couldnt run block. We just simply did not run enough1 Enos all but abandoned the run most games. Look at RBs 1-3 ypc....

An accurate QB definitely helps his offense go. If JW15 head is screwed on correctly (his QB coach Avery seems to like the hire) then he COULD thrive. I would also give Matocha a very long look as his HS offense seemed to have a lot of the same concepts and his learning curve may not be as steep as the others.... just my 2 cents...

SMU 2019 offense.

Listen I didn’t like the Dan Enos hire at all. This guy actually legitimately called a top 10 offense without utilizing s and P rankings.

It’s a system that Miami has needed for a long time, it’s also a system that I think will be devastating in our conference with the teams we play.

I wanted to look at actual games he called and even against good competition they did very well. Especially considering the athletes we have. We have guys with speed on this roster right now for explosive plays. (Pope, Harley, Wiggins are fast enough) I can see those guys with 3-4 40 yard plus plays this coming season.

The confusion that Miami would create for the the defenses that Miami plays is enough to actually turn the ship around. Will it? Unlikely if the players don’t care.

Can it? Absolutely! Anything is possible for Miami as long as they are playing in the worst division in power 5 ball. It’s why I wouldn’t be surprised for them to win 9-10 games just like I wouldn’t be surprised if we landed back at 6-6, (with OL issues).

This should be a step in the right direction for Miami. Maybe we can finally hit the tall task of 30ppg.

I’m a fan of the this hire.

If he can help us put some serious points on the board, we'll win most of the games - as long as the defense doesn't regress too much.

We'll see.

I'm totally starting Tate in that offense next year if TVD can't get it done.

If the QB's feet enable the offense, which it looks like it does for lashlee, then we need a runner obviously.

We also need a few more small guys. Compared to Auburn that year, we do not have the same small/fast guys.

The air raid principles he’s picked up from sonny dykes took his offense to another level. So he’s a Malzahn protege in the run game and a sonny dykes protege in the air raid passing game. Great blend of concepts. When he had full control of the offense and left auburn he threw the ball more at UConn and especially at smu this year. We will be balanced for sure with lashlee

Whip lash 2.0?

Lashlee took over playcalling in 2016 after the Texas A&M game.

Auburn was in the 35th percentile for offensive performance against A&M.

The next week they played LSU who finished 2nd in the S&P+ in defense that year.
With Lashlee running the offense they finished in the 81st percentile for offensive performance against LSU.

Auburn’s 2016 offensive performance percentile:

Under Gus:
43
99
35

Under Lashlee:

81
86
74
94
72

Then Sean White gets hurt against Vandy and plays the rest of the year with a shoulder that needs surgery because they have no other QB essentially (Franklin III was their backup) and their offense collapses:

63 (Vandy)
21
37
49
28

Lashlee's offense evolved under Sonny Dykes. He brought Air Raid concepts into it. Spread receivers even more, rarely has TE in line, stopped using as many RPOs(which White was bad at decisions)

He isn’t running the auburn offense

Yeah other than running two completely offenses/philosophies. Having a top 10 offense , one of the fastest paces in the country , actually calling the plays the previous year before he came here, a great recruiter , kids actually loved the guy and broke school records as an oc.

Other than that it’s the same story.
Career with an upward trajectory instead of a downward spiral.

Did I detect a hint of sarcasm there?

I like the guy, but his success is hanging on whether the guys on offense buy in and actually put the effort in to execute his offense. Over the last 2 seasons, we haven't seen that effort from everyone. I hope he can motivate these guys to be better students of the game and work harder.

I watched this last night and have seen the other film. Smu had 2 wide recericers than can likely play here and a qb with a huge set of balls and accuracy. Not trying to be a Debbie downer caise I love that he’s on board. But some of those plays were timed perfectly. Some passes were scary close to getting picked.
I don’t know if we have that dude on or qb room and I don’t know if we have the receivers that would devote the time to have that offense click. Jp Redding and restrepo likely do but don’t know about pope and the others. I really hope our dudes are excited and willing to put the work on Cause that system should work here very well.

I’m not the sarcastic type friend , ask anyone and they’ll tell ya.

Very Gus. It’s not exactly what he was running at UCONN or SMU. Which is good.

What I do like though is how well he was able to run Gus’ offense in 2016. It shows a coach that gets it.

Pat Sullivan has influence on him too former Sanford coach. Also was oc at auburn in 90’s, won a heisman there too.

We can observe thematically what plays he called--how he managed the game.

With that said, he was enabled by a competent OL unit.

Miami does not have a competent OL unit, forcing Lashlee to undoubtedly make significant adjustments.
