i said in another thread that as long as Joe is president, football will never suffer. no admin person is more invested than he is. he also understand the connection with football prominence and the promotion of the U as a whole. He lived it last 40 years. for example, College Game Day today which essentially in a multi-day infomercial for the university.

Jooo and I talked about this 4 years ago....

Rudy Fernandez (then UM's Chief of Staff and very close Joe E ally) was on OBB's podcast day after-ish Mario got the nod and Joe E (and Rudy) were acknowledged key figures in making it happen...

He specifically mentioned to Toast, "...we have calculated a Top 10 Miami is equivalent to $100MM in brand advertising..."

I don't know shizznizzle about media advertising $$$, but I suspect if Joe E feels a Top 10 Miami's program inputs' are less than advertising benefits' cost he gains for the total organization, he'll take that trade all day long.

Regardless if Joe E loves/hates el futböl, le encanta ganar dinero y dirigir una organización exitosa!

That's what I never understood about previous regimes' treatment of the football program. For better and for worse, this country is football mad, and having a top program gets you hundreds if not thousands of hours of free advertising each year in the form of mentions on TV shows, podcasts, social media, etc. And it doesn't just benefit football, our applicant numbers went through the roof after just 2016/17. Those toothless sister****ers in Tuscaloosa have been pulling students they have no business getting just for school, and then many of their other athletic programs are also having success. Being near the top isn't a cost, it's an INVESTMENT
