Some thoughts on FSU:
First off I am eating crow on bashing this team and staff for the first half and first few minutes on the second half. That was some of the ugliest football I’ve ever seen but we were all def proved wrong. This team and staff show some major balls in that second half and I applaud them for it.
Perry obviously had growing pains, missed on some easy throws, and barely had time to go through his progressions with the horrid o line play. RBs need to stop running right up the middle when it’s not there. Homer ran hard and physical today, Dallas played solid, and Gray was money down the stretch. WR play was solid minus Cagers drops but he made up for it with the tds. Thomas needs to have at least 5 receptions a game. He’s elite and no one in the country could stick with him. Loved seen Dee Wiggins draw all those PI’s. Tight ends were solid when given opportunities and the o line has to find a lineup that works, otherwise it was brutal watching them.
D line didn’t have much pressure in the first half but turned it up big time in the second half, Pinckney and Shaq played solid at lb, and the DB play was up and down. Def have to tackle better no doubt. Shoutout tho to everyone on d for holding them to 45 yards in the second half.
Special teams is a disaster. Spicer is better than Feagles but needs more hangtime. Lost confidence in Baxa after missing that chip shot. He’s got a leg but has no idea where it’s going. Need to stop the penalties on the return game and my god the kick and punt coverage is absolutely atrocious. Hartley needs to be taken off special teams and stick to tight ends and recruiting.
So happy Miami got the win as it was big for recruiting, team confidence, and also shows this team is resilant. Richt has to do a much better job calling plays even the announcers were calling out the plays on tv.
