Game 9: Lafayette 2/22/26

I can now say that I’ve seen my Canes score 30 runs in a baseball game. Outstanding hitting again, even if it was just Lafayette.

In years past, we would lose games to teams that we had no business losing to, and sometimes we’d even lose the series. With this lineup, we have a chance every game.

The pitching is definite still the big question mark. Hopefully the staff will be way better than any of us expect as the season gets into the meat (PAUSE) of the schedule.

Much as I have enjoyed all the runs, I’m looking forward to the real season, sans midweek interlude against UCF and Indiana State, starting on Wednesday.
Agree, I hope this weekend doesn't go to their heads. It reminds me of the ESPN spoofs when they were funny. Our hitters were saying : "Jimmy Key ... what is he, like 40? I could hit him".

This lineup reminds me of our defense a couple years ago where we had to score 30-35 to win.

They will have to score runs in bunches to offset what at this point is very questionable pitching. But if any lineup can it’s certainly this one.

Curb stomped 11-0 in 7 innings. Was there. Ucf didn’t belong on the same field as them.
I’m very concerned that we’ve just faced the worst competition ever the last two weekends and we really aren’t going to look great against great pitching. UCF being embarrassed by LSU while also no hitting “the greatest Miami lineup ever” for 7 innings is very concerning.

But it’s baseball so you never know.
