Our best hope for anything positive is to get swept this weekend. 0-1 in ACC Tournament. 0-2 in regionals.

I’m not sure that moves the needle but maybe with a new AD it’s gets you a new coach after a subpar next season.

Somehow this year's baseball team has me as frustrated as any football team ever did under Larry and onward. I think the fact that JD was obviously a bad hire and somehow a worse hire than DiMare + the fact that his area of "expertise" is in a race with the infield fielding to be the WOAT.

I was thinking the same, Manny could get you 7-9 wins but NO chance at the playoffs, JD can get you to regional but NO chance at Omaha. Unfortunately I think the higher ups are satisfied with that in baseball.

How does two supposed “pitching guys” in JD and Laz scout these pitchers and determine in their minds these guys can pitch in the ACC and D1. These bullpen guys are D3. Unbelievable

JD has chosen “underdog” arms for 25 years because they remind him of himself…

If you listen to his interviews he repeatedly says things like “I don’t care what kind of stuff you have. Can you pitch?”…. I understand where he’s coming to a slight extent but having 95% of your arms have mediocre stuff is a recipe for disaster like we’ve seen.

Rinse and repeat with him- mediocre arm talent, no feel for managing a pen, his ridiculous love affair with matchups, etc, etc. The dude stinks as a pitching coach and has stunk for a long long time

what I think is extra weird is that they’re not even division one prototype physically and they don’t have good enough stuff to get away with mistakes as we saw last night. It should be easier to scout elite power pitchers but I guess recruiting them is the trouble

The problem, going all the way back to the Morris downfall, is that we don't actually do a whole lot of scouting.

Dropped pop up. Ogden botched ball. Sheehan throw to first. Milano missed grounder. One error I guess lol

If you look at the box score yes but 2 ground balls were ruled hits and were definitely playable balls and 3/4 misplayed pop ups in foul ground near first base. We’re closing in on 80 errors let that sink in.

What does it tell you when pitchers who are elite guys want to go pretty much anywhere else *but* Miami to go be coached by “pitching guys” like JD and Laz?
