When the plane lands tomorrow get rid of Laz....tell JD you are responsible for the management of the pitching staff and will be evaluated every week. Remind him that he is coaching for his job.
Meet with him the Sunday before Memorial Day, are we in the tournament or not? Schedule another meeting the Monday after the Regionals...does he stay or get let go?
This team is not fundamentally sound at any aspect of the game.
The total roster mismanagement and pitching staff has been horrible.
Yes, Laz is the pitching coach, but this is ultimately on JD.

And next years team is not promising at all with the current talent on this roster

Whoever thought it was a good idea to hire jd should be thrown in a lake. I have a hard time deciding which hire was the worst Miami hire of all time.. manny diaz or jd?

Not even close JD. Manny Diaz for all his flaws as a hc was a good dc that would have been the hottest dc on market once he left miami.

JD has been a mediocre at best pitching coach for 25 years and don’t think he would be coveted nationally what so ever if he was to test the waters at any point over the last 25 years

Jd is the worst hire by a LARGE margin

It's on repeat. This team is poorly coached across the board for the 2nd straight season. It isn't even close to just being pitching. It is completely unacceptable at this point in JD's tenure. This team does many things well and has heart, but with so many mistakes, heart isn't going to win. If this team was coached well, we still wouldn't be completely happy because this isn't a championship team, but we would have several more wins. I like JD the person, but this would be his final year for me. To be fair to JD, we aren't going after whale transfers here, but they wouldn't be coached well, regardless. We have taken a step forward, just not enough.
 
I have the same problem watching this team year after year. It’s unfortunate because there’s enough talent on the roster to somehow manufacture post season appearance but deep down we all know we don’t have a shot to complete for anything meaningful. Program is in purgatory
 
If the athletic department had the foresight that some of us had back in like 2012 when #3 retired without retiring, we might be back to being a national program by now.
