Naaa. If Derais played for Sully, he’d be 95-97 consistently and a better sense of command…easy.

Dude had AJ Puk starting for him and even the marlins couldn’t figure him out as a starter.

The problem is JD.
Maybe he’ll transfer there then. Sounds like it would be the smart move

As a long time vet of this baseball program & its trend over the past decade or so, pls do me a huge favor:

Stop basing this team’s abilities/season when they bludgeon non power conference programs to start the season.

Once we face a fairly good team, that’ll tell u all u need to know. This Dook team is mediocre at best, & we just got walked off, mercy ruled by a score of 20-10. I don’t blame JD, just like I didn’t blame Manny (except his excuses & apathetic nature when we faced losses); I solely & squarely blame the administration.

In two instances alumni coaches who couldn’t cut it willingly walked away for the betterment of the program, & in both instances, two different regimes made lazy, internal hires who were, wait 4 it, apart of the problem.

Last season was a Cinderella story, getting hot in the tourney w upset victories; & yes it’s good to be lucky vs. good at times, but the two r not mutually exclusive. I’ve seen no improvements from this team yr over yr:

•We’re still the “Cardiac Canes,” winning games in dramatic fashion
•Pitching is still mediocre
•Bats r still scrappy vs. dominant sans 1 or 2 players each yr
•Poor fundamentals both in the outfield and on the mound
•Way, too, many free passes via errors or base on balls
•Too many ill-advised challenges
•Zero feel for the game
•Inconsistent w/ situational baseball opportunities

We beat up on bad teams, struggle w decent teams, & get moked by elite teams. That’s not the signs of well coached, developed team.
