Game 11: Florida 2/27/26

Didn’t mind riding Ciscar a little too long and him giving up the homerun. He was rolling and he’s a bull dog.

In hindsight, didn’t matter because you didn’t score anymore anyway, but how ***** is the first guy out of the pen in a 1 run game on Friday night is mind boggling.

because the team has no pitching again but supposedly 2 guys are hurt. whatever

So he flipped our recruiting but we’re not much better than last year? So how much has it been flipped? You know who flipped recruiting? Mario Cristobal from Manny Diaz. This is lipstick on a pig. This guy is ***.
This isn’t football and trying to compare the 2 just shows that you need to learn more about the recruiting differences between college baseball and football. The dude has done 3x the job fencing off SFL and has improved the relationships that Dimare burned.

Fault him for the pitching all you want because he deserves it but trying to deny that recruiting hasn’t improved tremendously is lunacy.

I'm not coming at you as a contrarian other than I think JD isn't qualified for many reasons. how has recruiting improved? lets talk pitching first

Shouldn’t need much hitting? There’s a possibility that we could lose 7 starters. It’s gonna be at least 5.

Next March they’ll be talking about how 2027 is a “rebuilding year”
What are you talking about? Williams, Ogden, West, Cuvet and Galvin would need to be replaced and Cian Copeland is going to be the one replacing West. Oh and news flash, Dubovich already replaced Galvin. They are probably only pursuing a SS and another power bat. 2 spots.

They weren’t tight, just out talented like every year against these guys. Their top hitters are both better than Cuvet. There isn’t a pitcher in our roster that could pitch for them
Probably fair…. First game of the series and we looked capable till the bullpen let it get silly.

Sucks when your head man is supposed to be a pitching wizard and yet we’ve seen lack luster results… if the offense doesn’t score 8-10 a game we ain’t winning

Sorry man, I guess I’m just a weirdo and instead of thumping my chest about recruiting fences, I’m more interested in beating Florida and getting to Omaha.

I don't even see the recruiting. Miami has always recruited they just never show up on campus, they always go pro. like i said, this is the NIL era now and Miami baseball better get up to speed.

Explain how Florida always has electric arms and Miami has none in the NIL era
Philosophy. Sully looks for projectable frames while JD’s first 2 years, he’s looked for himself. The next incoming cycle has guys that has more projectable frames that as they get into a college weight room, you would naturally see velocity increases.

Alot of these guys were recruited because of “pitch ability” meaning stuff instead of projecting what he’ll be down the line. It works great if he’s Ciscar but as you see we only have one of AJ.

Recruiting classes in baseball are usually 90% percent done by the end of junior year of that class so you won’t see the the difference in the philosophy 2 years down that line. Hence why Gio Rojas, Ty Van Valkenburg, and Andrew Gette don’t look like the rest of this pitching core.

As someone who is plugged in to Florida high school baseball, we have a long way to go recruiting wise to compare to UF. We are to UF what UCF/FAU/FIU are to us. ANYONE UF wants from Tampa, they get. ANYONE UF wants from central FL, they get. If we want to win against the big boys, it starts on the recruiting trail. Whoever watched this game and thought we were even talent wise is either blind or doesn’t know baseball.

We did exactly what I figured we would do. Put up a fight until pitching depth became an issue. We performed exactly like FAU and UCF did against us. Hung with the better team until talented depth takes over.

I am too but the way you recruit is different. Football, it’s almost instantaneous when it comes to change. Baseball recruiting is for the most part 2 years out.

Like I said though, he really ****ed the transfer cycle when it came to pitching. He could’ve had Trey Beard but he was stubborn about it.

Hope you are right because JD has to wake up and smell the roses like you mention in this post, really tired of seeing himself in ****** arms. If he does I have faith. If not it will fail more miserably than any coach in program history
