If Kaaya or Heaps performs as well as predicted

UM 38
UL - 24

if Kaaya or Heaps struggles

UL 24
UM 17

How does UL's point total not go up if UM's QB's struggle? Struggle = more INT's, more three and outs, more UL possessions starting with good field position. And more possessions normally equals more points, especially against a bad defense.

UM - 34 UL - 27

Kaaya: 23-36 3 TD 1 INT
Duke: 226 yds rush & rec 1 TD
C. Thomas: 2 sacks 1 ff
Dallas seals the game with an int with 27 seconds left

With all due respect, I highly doubt Golden will let Kaaya throw the ball 36 times in his first game.

UM - A lot
UL - A little

We'll win (well at least we should based on talent) if nothing else than for the reason they lost Bridgewater and some key defensive pieces.

No excuse not to win this game from a talent standpoint....but the mismatch on the sidelines scares the **** out of me. I can see us winning this game and still giving up 500 yards of total offense.

Louis 34
Canes 14

I think you guys are getting caught up in the early season hype, and are forgetting how bad D'No is. Last season scarred me, until a D'No "D" plays well against a formidable opponent, I have zero confidence Miami will best any team with a pulse

Miami will have a very conservative game plan on offense. They'll try to get Duke 20 carries and Gus/Joe 10-12 carries combined.

The Dropback game will be all high percentage, short stuff....only downfield stuff on play action. More 3 step than 7 step stuff, cause they prolly can't protect the deep drops....especially with the right side of the OL.

Regardless of Granthams usual coverage tendencies, Miami will see a lot of Cover 1 and Cover 3 in connection with eight man fronts or seven man fronts that are over shifted to the left side to force Miami to run against 8 man fronts or run to the right side of the OL. Kaaya or Heaps will have to consistently beat Cov 1 and 3 with some blitzes mixed in, especially if Kaaya starts.

I don't see Duke having a big game because the UL game plan will start and end with Duke. It will have to be won in the air unless we can run consistently on an eight man front.

You can only play keep away and conservative if it's close. So the D needs to sack up. If UL builds a lead, the whole offensive game plan is out of the window.

A lot of things have to go right for Miami to win....to be honest.

Basically, Miami has to possess somewhere around 35 minutes and win the turnover margin.

What is the matter wirth you people?

Did you even WATCH the Russell Bowl? I was there. It was a NIGHTMARE! Their punter was smacking our players around and making throat slashes at us. Their PUNTER.

Now they have a better coach, (granted, not a better QB, but does it matter, everyone looks like a Heisman winner against Dorito) and we will have the 128th ranked QB out of 129 QBs the last three seasons. (wait, he finsihed 126th one year)

I think y'all have caught the drteaded "DBC Syndrome".

Stop lying to yourself! Denial is a river in Egypt, man!

God save me! It's like I am the last one who hadsn't turned. I'm like Dr. Neville in that Last man on Earth movie.

73-68 Canes.

Don't give 'em anything cheap and make our foul shots and we're good.

Seriously. Not exactly expecting a defensive struggle in this one. Go figure. The team that punts twice loses. The team with the ball last wins. You know, track meet. Wonder what the over/under is on points. I see the Canes having trouble in a shoot out on the road with a first time starting QB (either one). Dook left, Yearby right, and Gus up the middle (and a toss sweep to Gray). I have this feeling that I'll be screaming at the tv for our defense to give me one, just one, stop.....

Anyway, The only thing good to come out of Kentucky is bourbon., which I no doubt will be sipping for the opener... And a certain madman/author, who I hope I'm not reading come the second half.
