Not sure who their backup is; i know they have CJ Carr’s younger brother there as a true freshman however I doubt he’s their #2.
Here is how i feel about Eric Weddle’s comments: I don’t believe he is being disingenuous, and he is most certainly not sending his son to play for his former DC Kyle Whittingham @ Michigan LOL.
Another thing the comments suggest is that Gaige is going for it; continuing to be a quarterback at the next level.
Bryce Underwood was the worst outta the four p4 true freshmen starters: Malik Washington, Bear Bachmeier, and JKS @ Maryland, BYU and Berkley respectively. It’s also true that Bryce outplayed Malik in their head to head matchup and Bryce was getting better as the year progressed.
All four of them had good years considering their respective circumstances; it was just that Bryce was the highest ranked.
It is a fascinating quote because it suggests that Bryce hasn’t improved much since the season ended; yet I highly doubt that to be the case since Bryce was one of the youngest true freshmen in the nation last year. He’s a month younger than Peter Bourque who is committed to VT.
Jordan Palmer, Darian Mensah’s & Bryce’s new quarterback coach, disagrees. We’ll see who is right in a few months.
Under 13 weeks remain until the college football season gets underway, which means the Michigan Wolverines are getting closer to unleashing their new look under second-year quarterback Bryce Underwood and new coach Kyle Whittingham. The Wolverines missed the College Football Playoff last season.
