Gaby's Predictions/Cristoballs [aka "I Like Miami Here"]

Won a title two years ago, went to the finals 2 years before that, conference finals 6 out of the last 10 years, star players both under 30.

Real terrible playoff team. Would definitely rather be any other team in the east. 👍
They just play a volatile style of basketball. High risk high reward .So people view it as choking but it’s just a numbers game. TBH they should have more rings with this group but their style makes it harder than it should be. Theres no denying they’ve underachieved since 2022. People had this as a dynasty when Tatum and Brown’s career came out so gang busters.
I mean they won a title in 2024 lol so idk that I’d say they’ve underachieved since 22. 2023 was disappointing for sure. Last year Jrue was injured and Porzingis had AIDS or something. This year ended really frustratingly but at the same time you guys (I’m assuming you’re a Sixers fan?) are honestly just a terrible matchup when healthy, the bigs were always going to be Boston’s downfall this year and then you run into one of the most dominant bigs in the game round 1.

The Vucevic trade is without question the worst move Stevens has made though. I will never understand it. I HATED trading for Simons and then they trade him for the one guy I hate more. I think Boston wins the series with Simons and no Vucevic (or Hauser, who I would’ve traded to duck the tax instead)

The non-stop shooting of 3's is absolutely infuriating as a fan of the team. Sure they can run a team out of the building, but then they go cold and blow a game 7 in a series that should have gone 5 max.

He's our best POA defender for sure. I think it's either him or Dorn in that spot.

I’d also wonder if there is something just leadership wise missing as well. The Celtics are my team and they do have a chip with two finals appearances, but when you look at the number of head scratching playoff losses through the Tatum/Brown era you just wonder what is it beyond just style and coaching (3 different head coaches)

I don’t have an NBA team , I’m not as big of a fan of the league and style of play now. But i do follow the Celtics pretty close because my best friend is a C’s fan . Tbh if I had to choose a team it would be them or Denver. I was a big Tatum guy when he came out. So I know them pretty well.

2022 was a choke job, that year is the one title that’ll haunt that group for the rest of their lives. They were the better team, the moment just got too big as the series got closer to nut cutting time. The veteran team exploited that. Even the ring they do have was crazy , they risked it all on Porzingis staying healthy and it hit , barely lol. That alone is a crazy feat .

Just looking back when they were having the eastern conference battles with LBJ and the Cavs you’d expected to have multiple rings by now. That’s why I say they’ve underachieved.

I was born in 1971 and lived outside of Philly until 1978. The reason that is so important for this post is that a one Julius Erving came to the Sixers when the ABA folded. And my mom was a doctor and came home one day and said that people were calling her Dr J (our last name is Joshi). she didn’t even know who that was.

Philly was basketball crazy in the 70’s and 80’s. I never let go of my love for the Sixers despite all the disappointments. But as a Hawks fan you know where I am coming from.
Grew up a sixer fan because of Dr J
In Southern California!
Hate the f ing lakers
Getting Moses Malone to take the sixers to the promised land 82-83 season was amazing
Brought a broom to school when they swept the lakers
Loved The Chuckwagon as well and still do, him and Shaq are the only watchable part of nba
Not sure how you guys do it w today’s game being so soft
