He ahs

Your argument is terrible. He hasn’t done anything besides make routine plays. Plenty of players make plays here and there doesn’t mean they are WR1.
JOJO is nowhere near being WR1 here at the moment , I’m saying he has the potential to be and you disagree that’s fine

Not saying he trash or that we can afford to lose him. All I’m saying is that he’s not a WR1 based off the weaknesses in his game.
Thats fair, but the kid is talented. and with the young receivers we currently have, along with what is coming in...I think its important to have stacked talent at that position from a competition standpoint.

Now I wouldnt blame him for going somewhere to get paid more than what he may get here, because getting into a bidding war for him really isnt warranted. Thats on him. If he is honest with himself he needs to stick around and compete, but if someone wants to pay him more than us...thats not our problem.

End of the day, the kid can make a name for himself, wherever he is. He has the ability, just needs to kick it up a notch or two

That’s interesting cherry picking. He also has 11 receptions in November, his entire production for the year. He played in five games straight had at least one reception in all of them.

When the team needed him when Daniels was out, Jojo stepped up. Fortunately so did Marion, Moore and Uoshaw. We have a solid nucleus of receivers, Jojo being one of them.
It's not really cherry picking it's almost the opposite lol. I can choose literally any game but the SMU game as evidence. That's a lot of snaps.

I hope he has his best game on the 20th, cause this is a game where I think we could really use some big down field plays to get some of the attention away from Toney. But Trader needs to hit the jugs machine and start practicing catching the ball with 2 hands.

On that we agree. My only point is we shouldn't write him off or assume he's hitting the portal until after the playoffs are over.

If Bailey doesn’t portal here I think he’s heading to NCst. We will see but we’d be making a big bet he finally does something next year when he’s only had 2 good games in his career. I expect us to go for an outside portal WR. And with that guy and To eh, and fact Moore and Upshaw are gunna get a lot of PT… and maybe Wingo too…. We will see.

I just hope he has a big game and catches the ball when targeted on the 20th.

Yeah, I didnt go through the whole conversation between you guys, but Trader is definitely talented, his biggest problem is himself, and possibly whoever is around him.

I honestly dont know.

I do know that I can see his talent. He needs to challenge himself. Correct the drops issue..get more physical...you know what I mean.

You mentioned Fletch and I remember the same mopes dogging him and his handles, among other things. Hes gotten better, but even he has work to do if he wants success at the next level.

Jfc im glad @Jassid82 isnt in our recruiting department bro named all jags 😂

Yeah, but u base your opinion of him being a borderline 5 star, I base my opinion off film. I knew what his weaknesses were coming in. He has potential, but he showed a lack of explosiveness and burst on film, and still shows the same weaknesses. He can be a WR 1 if he improves in that area, easier said than done though.
This right here! That’s exactly what I saw watching film on JoJo. He just flat out lacks urgency and explosiveness/burst is just something you can’t coach. You either have it, or you don’t! When you go back and watch his high school days, it’s is clear as day who is the explosive receiver on the field with burst and that’s Jeremiah. We just missed there and the leftovers weren’t what we were hoping for unfortunately.

No, but there are traits that all WR1 have. What matters most is the ability to get open, not making contested catches against some scrubs on high school. Doesn’t matter wat year he is in, if he doesn’t develop explosiveness and burst, which I identified in his highschool film, he won’t be a WR1 at this level. Based of wat u r saying its all effort, which would be a total red flag.

Brashard Smith was a terrible WR, it’s unfortunate the coaches didn’t realize he was a rb.
Facts!

U write off what he did in HS ok cool I’ll agree with you there It doesn’t matter now in college…then u write off what he did in an actual D1 college game against a p4 opponent because “ their secondary is bad” so it doesn't count lol there’s no convincing u brother & it’s ok you have your opinion..so again ill just leave it at he possesses the talent to be great & players improve hopefully he can get his mind right to our benefit ..go canes 🙌🏾
The problem with you what you’re saying is this, he does not possess the necessary intangibles/talent to be great. People think because he was a borderline five star that just means destined for greatness, unfortunately that’s just not the case. His route running is lazy and lacks any urgency. He does not have top D1 speed. Contested catches is not a sign of a great receiver, it’s a sign that a receiver can’t create separation, so he’s working with what he can do. Don’t get me wrong. Contested catches are great, but it’s the first sign a Guy can’t create separation. He is not wide receiver, one material and I think the sooner you come around to that, the better.

& Restrepo was essentially our WR1 last year..burst n explosiveness weren’t his strong suits he would’ve been drafted if they were 👀👀
But restrepo was an elite route runner, it’s really convenient that you miraculously left that part out of your post. Elite! There is nothing in JoJo’s game right now that says elite.

Bruh you the one that implied every WR1 has to posses burst & explosiveness..I brought up restrepro because he wasn’t the most explosive guy but he was still WR1 here because of those traits you yourself mentioned. What are you yapping about ?
That’s where you’re wrong, restrepo was explosive off the line. He had elite quickness. Jojo doesn’t have that. What world are you living in man, do you even watch the games? Smh

JOJO is nowhere near being WR1 here at the moment , I’m saying he has the potential to be and you disagree that’s fine
And that’s where you’re wrong. Wr1 aren’t lazy with their route running. Wr1 play with urgency on the field, every play. Wr1 either display elite top end speed or short area quickness.. and most importantly, they show an elite work ethic on their craft. None of these things JoJo shows, none of them.

Your last sentence says it all! I remember in this spring Dmoney kept going on and on about how JoJo is catching the ball one-handed and that was the first sign to me that this is not going in the direction it needs to go. That’s a sign of lazy technique and it hasn’t improved.
