Probably dont want to go to practice and it be weird or something like that.. Everyone knows whats up as word gets around quick so they just say **** it maybe..I've become calloused to this stuff, and have come around the last few years that 99.99% of this is a business. If a player wants to transfer out, I'm fine with it.
But I need someone to explain to me how announcing tonight, for example, helps you?
I genuinely don't know, so I need someone to correct me.
All of these kids have agents. If you are planning to enter the portal, the entire world is "tampering", although that's not even a thing anymore. Your agent is reaching out to teams. What does doing this in the middle of a playoff run do for you?
The only thing I can think of, and I guess this is the obvious and beneficial answer, is it lets every single team know, in flashing lights, that you're available, rather than your agent having to reach out to schools you're interested in? Maybe helps you get a call from a school that otherwise wouldn't know you're going to enter because you didn't call them?
If the NCAA rules are going to allow guys to portal out prior to the final game (title game), then the NCAA needs to allow the incoming 2026 signees that have early enrolled be eligible to play for depth.
If that means changing the calendar of ESD to a week or two prior, so be it. Then allow kids to enroll on Dec. 15 and start Spring classes about 2-3 weeks later.
If creating a product that ppl wanna see is what the CFP wants, then these school presidents/ADs need to get together and fix this
I believe your thought is the ONLY reason. Especially with only one portal window it will be madness this year. It is a lazy way for agents to ensure their people find homes and quickly. I am sure the top destinations have already been reached out to but kinda like applying to college you may not get into your dream school and have to settle on a backup. I imagine spots may fill up and I also imagine some teams are not so welcoming back if you withdraw your name from the portal.I've become calloused to this stuff, and have come around the last few years that 99.99% of this is a business. Highly likely candidates in my opinion:
Lyle
RayRay
Carr
Anderson
Robinson
Bryant
Less likely but would not surprise me:
Washington
Mack
McConathy
Probably missing somebody.
Yes?You’d be stupid to not let the world k ow 3 weeks before the portal even opens? Lol
Thought he was gonna contribute here .. best of luck to my fellow ZHope he goes somewhere he can actually play.
