Cynical coaches used to call a kid who was transferring "selfish" and "not a team player", then jump a flight for another coaching job without even informing the players first. NIL and "free agency" have a lot of downsides. But one of their many goods is they forces programs to value the players and treat them with the respect they deserve.

His HS film showed the same thing. He just wasn’t this explosive monster after the catch you expected with his early 5 star ranking. The elite part of his game is the 50/50 ball. He can high point and adjust with the best of them. I still even remember that clip from camp where it was supposed to showcase his athleticism. I saw a kid go full speed against another HS DB and not get any separation at all but made a great catch in traffic.

Does anyone know what the transfer policy is for players?

Do they let them to continue to practice/dress going into the CFP or are they off the roster?

If they announce they are portalling before R1 or R2 playoff games I wouldn't let them practice and play in the games. The portal isn't open. It's a needless distraction to announce beforehand, IMO. If we are still playing when the portal is open I would let anyone who is portalling practice and play though.
