That safety play still baffles me to this day. How were they so unsure of what to do that they looked completely lost all the time. While we only ran like 4 plays lololol

LOL I wish I could explain it. It would seem to me that Guidry had a very complex scheme to begin with and when opposing offenses ran any type of pre-snap shifts or motion then that in turn would change/alter the defenses individual responsibilities thus causing even more confusion. Once OCs started to see this on film, it was open season on our secondary.
 
Yiu guys are completely botching what Brown is on KO....He is 215 just like Lyle. How many times did Lyle receive a KR??? He was there to block just like Brown.

Kickers always kick to the right side and Brown will be on the left.

Just go back and watch our KR last year and look where CJ and Lyle are positioned

This isn't hard to understand.

We could easily do a **** of a lot worse than a guy who has proven to be good 2 years at a top program. College kickers are always randomly trash. Even the decently good ones.

Having the Borregales brothers performances is like the best we should ever even hope for at kicker tbh. Especially Andres out of HS. Portal guy maybe you can expect to be good, but you'll be doing that yearly, and you're certainly going to miss. That's actually why I wanted us to get the USF kicker Gramatica, especially since he has a younger brother that was in this class.... but oh well...

Cristobal put his entire trust and faith in the last DC who sucked and now for 2 years we didnt recruit or develop well. Not we are stuck with what we got. Cristobal made an enormously bad hire with the last DC hire from Marshall. It cost ward and the offense a playoff spot last year.

I hope Mario can fix it soon.
 
Can’t decide between:

Option 1: Believe all hype and get really excited and c0cky for the season.

Option 2: Reread 2024 July/August preseason hype articles like this and remind myself they should be taken with a grain of salt.

Leaning option 1.

Everything you wrote makes sense and we can and must win 10+ with this personnel. But JFC we knew we would be too thin at DT and S this season since before last season began. Certainly by mid last season. And even though I complained about Horton being always injured, you don’t let him leave with no backup. Fail.

After listening to DMoney’s interview of Moten I’m betting on this kid to be our best chance at good DT play. He looked good at times last year, I though nearly as good ad Barrow. I just don’t trust Blay to transition as well as we hope or Scott to step up to the level we hope. They’ll be fine but if we want a breakout DT we need Moten to be that guy.
