G.A.B.O.S. Or Nah?

Yada yada yada Miami did more for him than he did for Miami. He came to the U to better his stock he didn’t come for anything other than self interest. He even held Miami hostage till the last moment after the N FL didn’t pan out. Miami has 2 heisman trophy quarterbacks who went the distance. They were CANES

Cam Ward. Let’s see three schools number one pick in the draft. Good for him. What did he do for the U ? No conference championship, no playoff berth and a bowl loss cause he only played a half, his way of thanking the U for what the U did for him. He did nothing for the U.
"Biiiig Cam Ward. What has he done?"

Miami lost to Cuse (10-3) and GT (7-6) in 2024.
Miami lost to UL (6-1) in 2025 and now the sky is falling.

Cam was a great QB and like all great QBs, they do lose games but context matters. He had a tons of fumbles and ints at WSU and didn’t win much 5-7.

Beck is 29-4 as a starter, most people would consider that a good record. His four losses: bama 0/0, bama 3ints, ole miss 1 int/5 sacks, UL 4 ints. The records of the teams he lost to: 6-1, 9-4,10-3 12-2.

Football is a team sport. Beck had 4 INTs. OJ missed 4 ints but no one is calling him out. He also was asked to guard an NFL day one WR and gave up multiple TDs and lots of yards. I’m not bashing OJ, just pointing out how we all love to put blame on QBs but it is a team game. All 11 on the field have to play well to win. Had OJ caught just one INT, we likely win. Had Beck not thrown just one of the 4, we likely win. Had the D stayed out on the fake field goal, we likely win…

Still a very good record, but he's 29-4 as a starter. 2 Ls to Bama (2023 and 2024), 1 L to Ole Miss (2024), and 1 L to UL (2025).

I know Cam’s parents have been at canes games this season, but I didn’t expect them to also be posting here.

Ok didn't give up multiple TDs. He gave up one on a crossing route where his own lb ran into him. Also I think at best you could say one was a dropped int.

The other crossing route TD to Bell was 100% on Wed and Toure.

Why Toure isn't solely a run down LB I don't get. Honestly Popo should be the starting LB for Stanford without question. Wes and Toure were terrible and deserved to lose snaps.

My bad. For some reason, I thought OJ was on the second crosser, too. Both crossers are actually on the LB or SS. Knock his Fing head off one time on that crosser and he won't want to run it again. Agree that we should see more Popo especially since Stanford doesn't run tempo. Miami's weakness has been tempo and getting our downhill LBers stuck in coverage. Geee I wish we could run tempo when we get a defense stuck with 6-7 DBs against our OL... easy 5-10yards per play.

Here are the plays:
(01:06) [SG] MOSS, Miller pass deep to the right incomplete intended for BELL, Chris thrown to the MIA35, clock 01:02.

(01:49) [SG] MOSS, Miller pass to the right incomplete intended for BELL, Chris broken up by FREDERIQUE, JR., Romanas at the LOU40, clock 01:45.

(06:16) [SG] MOSS, Miller pass to the right incomplete intended for KURISKY, Nate broken up by FREDERIQUE, JR., Romanas at the LOU42; QB hurried by MOTEN, Ahmad, clock 06:12.

(04:15) [SG] MOSS, Miller pass deep up the middle incomplete intended for BELL, Chris broken up by FREDERIQUE, JR., Romanas at the MIA35, clock 04:13.

I'd get you screenshots but the Youtube videos I've found of the game don't have them. I'm not saying they are give me INTs but most of them are easier than the insane ones made by ULs linebackers.

That was probably the worst loss during my lifetime. FIU the grossest.

We've had some bad ones: UVA(last game in OB), FIU, MSTU, FSU '97, Clemson '15, BC, LSU peach bowl, UW 2000 (natty missed), OSU 2002 (the flag- natty stolen), ND '88 (natty missed)...
