FWIW chad Thomas

Who would you compare Chad Thomas to? Is he more of a Jadeveon Clowney or Mario Williams? I know he's yet to play a single down in college, but was curious to whom he's best compared to?

Jason Pierre Paul with better technique

Calais is a lot better than some of the players mentioned in this thread.

Everybody's point wasn't to analyze who was the best player out of UM in the last 15 years. It was that Campbell was a somewhat arbitrary, middle of the pack pick. You are correct though. Caliais is a very good NFL player, and probably superior to some of the players mentioned in peoples J-O-K-E-S.

Jevon Kearse

Think of him more like a Reggie White type.

Someone mentioned Sam Shields and seemed to be serious. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

That was me. Care to debate it?

I'll start: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000332043/article/sam-shields-packers-strike-fouryear-39m-contract

Campbell is making coin too at $11 million per. And that's a contract that's 3 years old now. I would argue though that in an NFL that is devaluing physical corners with it's rules, a guy who covers and can get you picks like Sam can is increasing in value.

I understand. You're right. Calais actually got way more guaranteed money than Sam. But next to quarterback, shut down corners are more valuable and in higher demand than any other position in football.

Shields has upside at a shallow position but was a fairly average player last year. Campbell was one of the better players in the league last year and one of the elite players at his position.

Should be fun to watch him and AQM play next to each other on 3rd down. Let's hope we don't become incredibly predictable with stunts/loops.

It's been a real hoot watching them play on third downs
