Fvck Manny Diaz and anyone that supports him

I was disgusted as anyone after that 3 game debacle at the end of last year - especially FIU. Over the years, I’ve learned to temper my expectations - pro/con, positive/negative - so they don’t come back and take a large chunk out of my backside.

At this point in time, I’m more optimistic than at the same time last year. Last year it was cautious optimism. As I like to say, time will tell.

the true test will be if we do lose to Clemson how do we rebound against Pitt?

Lol at the anti Manny crowd comparing this season to last season bc we beat “Louisville and FSU”. If that’s all that y’all have drawn from the first 3 weeks then I don’t know what to tell you.

Some “fans” want to be right so bad about Manny that it went from, “I want to see us beat UAB first”, to “let’s see how we handle going on the road to Louisville”, to “ok but how will we handle success going into a rivalry game”, to “now they gotta prove it to me against Clemson”. I expect if we pull
off the upset it’ll morph into “let’s see what we do against Pitt bc it is a trap game” and so on.

Kudos to Dan for being a fan of The U over being a fan his own takes coming true. We need more fans like that.

They're just trying to hedge against being wrong, so many of these so called "rational" fans talk from both sides of their mouth and temper expectations. They don't seem to understand that taking a wait & see approach towards the team that you're supposedly a fan of means that you're not actually a real fan. That's what fair weather fans and pundits who work in the media do. Fandom & Ambivalence are diametrically opposed to one another.

If you harbor lukewarm feelings about your team, or are unsure about whether or not they can win, then maybe you should get a new team. It's really as simple as that. That's a much better option than being a fake fan, or spreading negativity & toxicity 24/7 on your teams primary message board.

Where is this thread GOING. I'm lost?

Respect OP for admitting a mistake. I'm pretty sure nobody was happy with Manny Diaz at end of last season. I was cursing him out leaving the stadium after the Virginia Tech game. I didn't even need to wait for FIU or Louisiana Tech.

I've learned that you don't get a prize for being first in line to bash your team. You have to let things play out to an extent and see if changes are made. Let's see if he can build on his momentum.

Win or lose against Clemson, it will be how we handle the rest of the schedule. Every team has let downs, the best figure out a way to win. Pitt will be the most telling on how far this staff has come.
We’ll make Pitt tap.

Can we at least wait for the season to finish before crowning MD as a P5 level HC?
I'm ok waiting until at least 2021 is done to make up my mind on him.

Manny seems to be a coach who recognizes mistakes/problems, then fixes them. I thought Enos sold him on a lie, then he was stuck with it. He was also stuck with no placekicker. Even a decent kicker would have meant three more wins, but that also sealed Enos' fate, so it seems like it was a good thing, instead of possibly suffering through another year of that offense.

This is one of the many reasons why you are such a respected poster and contributor on CiS, Dan.

Don’t feel too bad, most of us wanted to castrate Manolo after last season’s debacle.

I think that we will have a magical season, even if we lose to Clem$on. The Tobacco Road refs are gonna be a big factor in this game. Our dudes have to block out all of the bullshyt calls (and no-calls) and play lights out. If they can do that, then they will bring home another W.

Just like the Heat, and the Marlins in 1998 and 2003, Miami teams always get plenty of horrible calls (especially our Canes), but if a team is extremely focused and well prepared they can overcome the cheating zebras.

Hindsight is 20/20, 95% of this board felt the same way after how ****** our team looked at the end of the year.

Last Saturday night I said I’d be willing to give Manny more time since he hung 50+ on FSU.

To this day, I still stand by that.

You have to also acknowledge that getting King is a huge part of this equation. This offense is only about 5 points better than last with Nkosi running it. Maybe less.
