Fvck Manny Diaz and anyone that supports him

You should probably lock every thread prior to 1/13/20 if we're trying to avoid calls for Manny's head on a platter.

Bu this could be part of the best redemption story in UM history.
True. Lots of receipts to go around. I want to think of this thread as serving as sort of a Truth and Reconciliation Commision kinda thing, where everyone has an opportunity to fess up to their freezing cold takes on Manny.

Manny deserves credit for the obvious upgrades made in the off season but he is not contract extension-worthy yet in my book. He has to prove that he’s willing to make necessary changes on the defensive side of the ball even if it means fracturing friendships. If/when he does this, I will be ready to roll with him.
So let’s chill with the Manny fellating for now and see where things pan out after a few more games.

Ever since the sting of FIU, I haven’t been high on Manny. You had to be there walking out of that godforsaken baseball stadium, spitting blood and poison, to realize how ****ed some of us were.

All the while, I was hoping Manny would prove me wrong. Because that’s what a fan does. He may despise the current coach, but he still wants his team to win and succeed.

Well, now I have a new hope.... and kudos to OP for manning up. I hope Manny turns out to be everything I thought he wasn’t.

Oh and just to be a real asshøle, how about this. Liberty dogwhipped FIU. That’s right. Liberty. AKA Jerry Falwell University. Butch “muthafukkin” Davis...LOL

If we actually beat Clemson, then Manny can take that job at Temple that I know he really wants....

Simply anyone writing off any coach after their first year EVER of coaching isn't doing much thinking . Or is thinking with their heart and not their head. And this has nothing to do with Manny , who I think is a good coach and can become a great one , but just in general. Manny had 3 problems last year ( none of which were his doing really besides hiring Enos ) - Enos , no QB and no kicker . He fixed all 3 . Nuff said.

@Dan E. Dangerously we all (maybe 90% even @Go Canes!!) wanted Manny gone after FIU and LA Tech. But it takes a real man to admit their faults. I'll admit with you. I've had a lot of doubts, but with what Manny is doing, he erased a bunch of them doubts and we feel pretty **** good about it. That's all we want. For Miami to be back in that discussion of among the current gen Bamas, Clemsons, LSUs and Ohio States of the world. And Manny is holding up his end even after a forgettable season.

Lol at the anti Manny crowd comparing this season to last season bc we beat “Louisville and FSU”. If that’s all that y’all have drawn from the first 3 weeks then I don’t know what to tell you.

Some “fans” want to be right so bad about Manny that it went from, “I want to see us beat UAB first”, to “let’s see how we handle going on the road to Louisville”, to “ok but how will we handle success going into a rivalry game”, to “now they gotta prove it to me against Clemson”. I expect if we pull
off the upset it’ll morph into “let’s see what we do against Pitt bc it is a trap game” and so on.

Kudos to Dan for being a fan of The U over being a fan his own takes coming true. We need more fans like that.

I get what you're saying, OP. A hot streak, UM gets into the top ten, receivers drop passes, then multiple losses. I'm trying to compare cultures, but I'm pretty clueless except for the data.

I'm trying to find myself some clarity on what I'm actually seeing. If this is too wordy, I'll take my licking.

- The "fumble the ball and you'll all run until your **** bleeds" is the type of phrasing that gets my attention. It's a detail thing, but indicative of a person who's at least serious about trying to change the culture. If you guys can think of something ground level during Shannon-Golden-Richt, please remind me. When a player knows that the rest of the team is going to knock them senseless for doing dumb things, it straightens a lot of that procedural crap out. Re: Ken Dorsey's chat about Al Blades.
- We've seen the exciting preseason stuff before. Dudes beating on the weight room door crawling over each other to get in. I suspect that's the Athletic Department trying to keep the donors happy with handheld film tricks and noir-style lighting.

- D'Eriq King. He's probably the best since Dorsey.
- King also has a descent coordinator (so far). But Harris and Kaaya had their moments. Even Williams tossed 6 TD's. They might have done better with a better OC.

- UM is 3-0, with 2 conference wins. Exciting offense. Pass rush. Yay.
- Pass protection still suspect. Dropped balls. Fumble-poo. Schedule strength uncertain. Then there's this unholy mess:

* 2013 started 6-0, then we lost three straight and lost a bowl game.
* Al Golden D'Onofrioed his way to 3-0, ended up 6-6, then lost another bowl game.
* 2015 was puke. I need to punish myself for invoking the Golden Shower's name again. Mods, I apologize. I just gave myself another PTSD episode in penance.
* 2016: Win 4, lose 4, win 5. We won a bowl game. Against an obnoxious fanbase of my state (kill me).
* 2017: Win 10, lose 4. No conference title and another bowl loss.

We've always had solid backs and great NFL talent. Even Chickillo managed to overcome his Golden Shower and make the NFL. That was criminal.

I see both ways, but it's been a long time since I've been the least bit excited to watch football. I hate FSU so much that I had a good night sleep for the first time in months.
