I spoke with a couple of SFL recruits and parents last night. They mentioned they felt like Miami was recruiting out of state kids "harder" than some local guys. I asked if these same kids felt like other schools were out recruiting Miami for them and they all responded no...

I stayed silent for a few and said so we are recruiting you harder than other schools but you are "concerned" we are pursuing out of state talent harder. The two parents laughed. I told them we are a national brand and kids need to get used to not being the only game in town. Mario is here to win and he is going to win big. It ended up being enlightening and good not negative hence why I titled funny to me. Times are changing and I fully expect more urgency for that U committable offer in the coming classes.

Good.

National recruiting= National Titles.

Every Playoff contending team in the Nation recruits Nationally, Miami should be no different.

If South FL players want to change the outlook of Miami recruiting, then they should commit & get on board.

The days of chasing after them only to be left at the altar with no options at the last minute are over.

Either get on the train or move the fck out the way, those are the choices.

They're just regurgitating what UF and FSU are feeding them. Props to you @1murhurricane for letting them figure out how absurd that narrative is. It's almost as if people have been trained to ignore what they see and feel and listen to the narrative that's being spewed. That whole conversation is the epitome of nonsensical.

100% I had a parent of one of the top recruits down here ask me if they should go to practice a 3rd time because they don't want Miami to think their recruitment is over yet lmfao. You can guess what I said next:)

Perfectly said. I tried to articulate that without offending anyone lol but that's how I wanted to respond.

We got Texas A&M signing 25 blue chip d lineman in a 3 year span and still see d line recruits flocking there in bulk, yet they’re worried about miami recruiting nationally?

We got a long road ahead of us to change this bull**** narrative. I’m worried we’re looking at a 5-10 year battle to rid of it

Wait why wouldn’t they want that?

Once the kids see our financial commitment to the program take shape AND a couple of kids who usually would make us wait can't get in at the last minute it will change IMO. I agree it's a 2-3 year process. I'm telling you guys it's going to happen this year where a big name local guy can't get in. And not because of pride because we are full up with solid talent.

Wasn’t that long ago many on here were constantly complaining about us constantly losing SFLA kids to the likes of Bama, UGA, Clempson, Taint, etc. The narrative has changed now that Mario will go after the best players no matter where they reside.

S. Fla recruits have heard and seen nothing but negativity around the program for a decade. A lot of over promising and under delivering. There is no loyalty to our program because we hadn’t earned it. Things are genuinely different now. We’re going to recruit the top guys from down here just as hard as anyone else but like Liberty City said we’re going after top dogs everywhere!

We want as many top local guys as we can get but what S. Fla kids are about to quickly learn is we don’t need them. National guys are going to come down here and fall in love with the city and the culture. We will have success locally and we will miss locally, that’s just how it is. But for every guy we miss on locally their will be a National blue chip dying to take his spot.

They better open their eyes and get with it or get lost. We gon be alright either way!
