I agree with this. Young needs a lot more going his way. I do think we need to be more creative with BS. Jet Sweeps and the occasional screen are nice, but they need to be more intentional getting him into 1v1 matchups in space. He’s always a missed tackle away from housing it.

There’s no “but Gattis” from me. I’m a bit of a math nerd and I’m hyper aware of statistical manipulation. I’m not saying that was nor was not the case with you; simply asking because it merits being asked.

I’m perplexed with TVD. He looks terrific at times and lost at others. This is one of the oddest statistical applications I’ve seen - he’s either awesome or dog *****. I’m not sure if regressing to the mean here actually means anything in this case since his mean would most likely be an average P5 QB.

I hope this makes sense.

Totally does...

I believe his mean is more of what we've seen last 3 games...not his spurts of better play
 
I got practically **** on for saying that Emory Williams should have started the UVA game. I still hold to that opinion. I dont know what TVD's injuries are but resting for another game couldnt have hurt.


As @supacane and @FuriousStyles both noted, our O line is among the best in the nation at pass protection. Our QB's have ample time to diagnose the defense and get the ball out. I get the feeling that Williams is the better option given extra time to diagnose and release.

All that said, you gotta start TVD the rest of the way. We had our chance to get Williams some more reps against UVA and did not.

We are going to find out. I’ll never root against the kid. The injuries are worth mentioning as is his crap play against cover 2. Dr. Mario doesn’t share injury details so no one really knows how bad it is. I hope he plays well this week. If not, he needs to get yanked as soon as we see Bad Tyler IMO.

he drops at least 1 pass every game. Sometimes more.

How does that factor in?

He's not open "all the time." TVD has repped so much with X that's where he looks and 8s most comfortable with. To his credit, a lot of tough catches are being made on top of his open ones. He goes to X on 3rd and 4th down regardless.

Secondly, after watching film reviews, I don't see how anyone can expect a WR to be open when we max protect against 7 defenders dropping into coverage only sending 3 WRs on routes against 7 defenders in coverage.

We don't use the RB and TE in the passing game. Teams are scheming against it and this is what you get. We throw so few balls to them, that when they do go out for passes, defenders are taught to ignore them.

Dawson needs to change his plays and play calling. Call 2 consecutive drives featuring the TE and WR in the passing game and watch how much it will open things up for everyone else. The RBs should be running Texas routes and TEs should own the middle of the field. Teams are taking away intermediate and deep passes. Where are the shallow crosses, TE stick routes, and RB Texas and wheel routes?

If you watch Roman from Orange Bowl Boys you will cringe at where the spaces are open for TEs and RBs, but we either don't send them on routes or the routes sre not optimal against the coversge being played.

Who? Young or BS? I would just like to see more 50/50 shots to Young, back shoulder type plays. For BS I wish we’d be more creative and try isolating him on LBs or CBs and force them to make open field tackles. No one is really drop free, outside of maybe Restrepo.

When faced with near-peer/peer competitors (minus outlier of aTm), the negative common demoninator has been QB1 play. Specifically as follows:

QB1 TVD:
- Incompletions due to low percentage double-covered WRs with others wide open
- Interceptions

QB1 EW
- Incompletions due to nervous yips


QB1 TVD now has 12Qs + 1OT w/ subpar play and catastrophic INTs (5 TD : 7 INT)
- Confidence cratering, not rebounding
- Trending down heavily

QB1 EW now has 4Qs + 1OT (1 TD : 1 INT)
- Confidence started low, gained pace by 4Q
- Trending up

Mario, as he should, allows Dawson to run the offfense. Now through his last 12Qs + OT of play, for whatever reason, TVD is limiting the play calling and results not the playcalling itself.

Contrast this with what we saw QB1 EW allow for with slow and deliberate opening of the playbook in just 4Qs. As EW's confidence grew, the play calling and results were expanded.

It's hard to be so ruthless in a ruthless industry because we forget these are still young adults, but they are well paid young adults.

The answer is very clear: sit TVD and start EW.

Sit TVD to see what it’s like in the NFL if you don’t perform.

If TVD tears up then declare for NFL and take your performance there and see .

People we’re trying to get rings no time for crappy play and that’s exactly what it is CRAP.

And that goes for anyone who is not performing BENCH .

Teams quarterbacks play is peaking just about now as competition for championships intensifies.
While we’re hear trying to believe the next game will be the one TVD performs but the game never arrives till season ends and were upset cry WHY WHY send Lane Kiffin BAT SIGNAL UP AGAIN.

Fire all the coaches AGAIN but them all out make them rich , hire new one make them all rich .

If TVD doesn’t perform in the first series or throws INT give him the HOOK.

This I feel is losing confidence and there play will drop off.

I FEEL IF TVD IS A TEAM PLAYER HE SHOULD TELL COACHES I’M NOT RIGHT .

But PRIDE again will be a fall
