Fug Manny

I get your point but it was Richt's guys, Golden's guys were gone by the time Manny became HC, save for a few stragglers......
I felt like RJ was the best I think he was a Golden recruit and the linebackers were retained by Richt who were coming by default, Golden had some under the radar players. Not super star status but good college players. Richt I did not want as HC but at least he was a Cane and a good dude, I like Richt. All the coaches we had after Shannon I did not like as hires, if I knew more about college back then I probably wouldn't have like the Randy hire either.

Manny has some nerve doesnt he. The ink didn't dry on his contract to be Rutgers' HC when he jumped at the chance for his "dream job"(dumb decision #1 of many by the admn) but wants to whine and cry about Mensah being "tampered with" by Miami.

As for Golden(dumb decision #2 of many by the admn) he was a loser when he was hired at Miami and became a stubborn loser when it was clear his defense wasn't working and kept another loser(NoD) as the D coordinator. We as fans were cheated of seeing at least decent to good teams over that 10-year period by loser coaching hires by a loser, garbage admn. Sad.
Rutgers Temple same thing so I will let it slide, pause

richt was also sick, you could see his last year he would look lost. that guy won 19 games his first two seasons, he would have been consistent here but not Mario level but he donated $1 million of his own money to the indoor facility. Great guy.

Randy Shannon promoted to HC was the only one that made sense at the time out of the Shannon, Golden, and Diaz hires. Not saying I liked the hire, but I understood.

Coker had the program in shambles by the time he was fired. It's actually amazing we never had a losing season under Coker. He was fortunate to have NFL players littered across the roster every year. Only reason we weren't absolute dog **** under him. Randy was known as a disciplinarian and that's what we needed at the time. The opposite of Coker. Yes, I'm sure the administration could have done a better job in their search for a HC. Was it a lazy hire? Yes, but he was already familiar with the program/university, so it made sense at the time to me. Again, I wasn't thrilled with the hire, but I understood. To be fair, Randy did do his job in that regard to the disciplinary issues and cleaning up our image. Unfortunately, Randy was not HC material as we soon found out.

Yea he was a good dude but you know me I always wanted Butch and Saban levels for UM, anything less and I probably would of moped. Nothing against the man he is a great dude and donated out his own pocket, I cant get mad at that. And he had results in wins even though they ran the same 5 plays dude was a bit successful.

Yeah but as much as Trumpycane doesn’t like Manny look what he did with the defense when he took over from Golden with essentially the same players and 3 freshmen linebackers
Yea the players there fit the style he wanted to run, my problem was him bringing in talent. Thats something that is the life blood of a program that he wasn't willing to do. That was my issue with him
