Fuente: "We knew what [defense] they were in every play"

It is very easy to determine the coverage Miami is in using motion.

A lot of individuals read that and think it's a slam. It's not. We aren't disguising our coverages. We are mirroring safeties when you run jet sweep motion. We are showing our FS blitz look. We are showing the press and two deep looks.

Knowing what coverage a team in is fine. Spread teams virtually force you to show the coverage pre-snap. It's why you see so many programs get to the line in shotgun spread, stop, look to the sideline and get a play call. This is not a slam on Miami, it is normal.

What he did not say is, "we knew where every rusher was coming from before the snap" or "we knew exactly who was supposed to be covering which WR before the snap."

That's where any type of disguise comes from against a spread offense that uses tempo. I listened to that press conference and just continue my love affair with Justin Fuente, who is a coaching star. That team we played last night was not nearly as talented as Miami and is only regarded where they are because of Fuente. I hope he gets an SEC job and weakens the marquee programs at the top so they're actually having to play someone good before the SEC title game against one another.

Funte’s comment about the coverage is exactly what Richt said our offense issues were last year.

Teams that play us in 2-High, while controlling the run with their front-7 give us fits. If they play us 2-High, we have to be able to run.

That will decide the Notre Dame Game next week. If we can’t get them into 0 or 1 coverages with our run game, we’re going to need a masterpiece from the D. Or, Rosier is gonna have to play his best game, ever.

Really enjoyed that with Fuente(who I think is a really good young coach), he must be great as a media member because he'll actually give you some really good answers and in the process actually teach you a bit about the game. Some of the stuff he said right there was very insightful

Just because Flubberneck is gone doesn't release Vag Tech from my personal **** list, and I suspect that is true for many others as well. It is always a thrill to shove a loss down their throats.

Wasn't he the one that made those comments about Diaz before the season?

Diaz is a one trick pony.. it just so happens that with our skillset, his one trick is deadly. Fuente seems like a cool dude. Hope he gets a better fit soon.

You usually don't make dumb comments. He might've been in the past but we've blitzed way less than we did last year. Especially the last 3 games which shows he's not a 1 trick pony. He had an inexperienced secondary and in order to give them a chance early he had to dial up pressure. Now that he can trust the secondary he's playing C1 man and letting the DL dominate. That's a complete change from last year or even the Toledo game.

Came to write this. You saw his motion men run across and back multiple times. You saw Redwine and Jaquan roll at times. It's why I wish we used a little more motion in our offense. Problem is he clearly didn't know where our stunts/games/slants were coming from. A defense is comprised of a front and a coverage.

And, for everyone who hammers Diaz for "being too cute" (a narrative that has become superficial in how it's used), standing guys up, moving guys around and ultimately doing different things with his front allows him to get our guys in optimal positions going upfield. It also, as a byproduct, gets us gashed when the guys behind them cannot cleanup the mess.

He's also completely changed the coverages behind his fronts multiple times. We've played a ton of Cover 1 now. We've played less 2-read. He doesn't have the Safeties to do some of the things he did last year. He adjusted. The Diaz narratives have some basis in [past] fact. But, they're now oddly overdone and usually with little evidence behind it.

We been playing alot of cover ones since FSU. Diaz didn't trust the secondary but after we lock down Syracuse he was like ****.

Btw I said it at the beginning of the year, our secondary guys coming into this season has more talent than last, only with less experience. Truth. Now the experience has caught up. I love seeing Carter, Bandy and Smith. Lord. Imagine the guys coming in. Wow.

NO ONE SHOULD BE UPSET ABOUT THIS.

We wanted to be like the '86 gang right? Those dudes just lined up in base and whipped people. You dominate teams when you can you can stop them without deception or gambling. It always comes down to execution of assignments, running to the ball, and tackling.
