FTP: UNC 4th and 17

This eerily resembles mannys first year and me griping. Unnecessary blitzes , with horrible disguising. I *****ed about this to nauseam.

2 deep man with bumping and just unleashing garvin, hill , Rousseau and Ford was the common sense approach to that long of distance.

This or deep quarters force them to throw something short of the marker and tackle them

This makes me SICK to look at again!

Baker must go

Hate to say it, but we've put that blitz on film plenty before Baker ever got here. I hate the call, maybe that's on Baker, but I am not seeing some big departure from what we've done these past few years. What's killing us most is the recruiting misses at DT and DB.

Yes. We’ve done it before in the past couple of years and given up first downs in long yardage situations each of those years.

Whether Baker called it or Manny called it doesn’t matter it was retarded ESPECIALLY since we have a history of not executing it

Idk if I'm tripping but can someone verify there was 11 men on the field? I keep counting 10.

No argument, but to me, in that situation, you have something else in the bag, especially when you've had two weeks to prepare. That's gameplan and preparation, which is on the head coach. I feel the same about offense. You struggled mightily in the red zone, with two weeks to prepare. I saw no creativity or imagination.

Holy ****, you’re right!

We only have 10 guys out there! It’s definitely only 10 guys on defense. I checked several times just to be sure.

**** you, Baker! And that’s after a TO

Compiling the videos for the whole breakdown but I'll post a couple individual clips from this morning's film review.

This 4th and 17 was a hot topic last night and waking up this morning and watching it again didn't do me any favors.. lol

Blitz was perfectly picked up by unc
And db's lost sight of the line to go..ugh

Thanks for posting the play. I couldn't watch the game, but followed ESPN gamecast on my phone. I thought the game was won when UNC had 4th and 17. After a long delay because of poor cell coverage, I saw UNC 1st and 10. Knew the game was lost.

Nevertheless, can't pin the loss 100% on that one play. How many times were the Canes within the UNC 10-yard line, yet came up empty or with only 3 points? And the missed extra point? From what I saw on my cell, UM dominated after the 1st quarter, but couldn't cash in. How can special teams and red-zone offense be problems for so long?

UM could easily be 2-0, but right now I wonder if they even make it to a crappy bowl. Frustrating!

@3rd-43 you should change your screen name to 4th-17!

I’m not changing the most positive play in my life as a canes fan for a 4th & 17 against a UNC team that will finish 8-4. If I didn’t change it for a 4th & 14 in the national title game... nah
