Honest question...where is the cutoff for hating the Gaytors or Semenholes more? I’m 37 and I lean toward fugg the noles...

This was discussed in a thread a while back and i can't remember if it was its own thread or within a different thread. I'm 52 and my hate for the gaytor is unequaled by any other team. It seems like younger fans definitely have a lean, on average, to more F$U hate.

I guess it is a combination of your age now and also how old you were when you started following the Canes. There are exceptions of course. At 37, you have to be close to the cut off but age can be skewed by the number of years following the team too, I would think.

There are definitely outliers. There are younger fans, like under 30, with 15 years or less time following the team who hate the gaytors more. That said, I would think that this demographic is overwhelmingly a hate F$U first group.

To me, it would actually be a good thread, especially if we could poll it and ask age and years following the team to work the data.

I'll be 32 before the new year. If you're a FL native like me, I'm not sure it's possible to hate anyone more than the Lizard.

See, there's another 2 questions. Where did you grow up and where do you live now.

Couldn't care less who wins the UF/FSU game. Our one sided rivalry with both of those programs is lame. We are slightly more relevant to UF and FSU than we are to college football nationally. That's to say barely relevant.

I hate the Gators most of all, but they are already in a bowl game. FSU having their bowl streak end without having NCAA sanctions to blame it on would be epic.

Nobody will remember that in a couple years, just like nobody really remembers that UF didn't make a Bowl 2013 & 2017 without NCAA sanctions to blame it on. If FSU beats UF nest Saturday it will be talked about for years to come and UF will never be able to live that loss down.

Signed,

Not a good comparison. Florida didn't have a 35+ year streak of going to bowls when they didn't make a bowl in 2013 or 2017. The bowl streak is big enough to FSU that they scheduled a replacement game last year so they could eke their way into one last year. They want it bad.

I will say this, if they go 5-7 and still make a bowl, then ***** that, go FSU.

Torn on this one honestly....gators losing to Taggert would be epic and cause them to question Mullen again. However this would give FSU some hope going into next season as well...

I not sure if you understand the big picture with rescheduling the LA-Monroe game. FSU officials knew that Nebraska longest bowl streak was coming to an end last year and they would take over the #1 spot. They wanted to be #1 at something because it makes a feel good story after a dismal 2017 season.

Two teams you NEVER F-ing Root for...No matter what the circumstances are....
* ND
* UF
1A & 1B for me. I'll probably get some red line added for this, but in the Bowden years, I always gave some props to the semenholes because they never avoided us. May have had a couple more NC's if not for us. Played us when we were independent and in the Big East. They don't have to play us every year now. Who knows what'll happen now with Slick Willie at the helm.

Gayturds? I never have and never will hope they win any game.

I can relate since I'm also 37 and grew up with the Gaytors not being a threat to us. Both times the Gaytors were good (mid-90's and mid-00s), we weren't in the conversation for a national championship, but the Noles were always the enemy every year. I'm torn between who I want to lose next week, I really don't care but can make a case for both.

The game means more to FSU than UF this time. Win or lose, UF is going to a pretty good bowl and will say Mullen's first season was a success. Taggart missing a bowl and ruining their streak in his first season would be hysterical. The perfect scenario would have been for FSU to lose yesterday and then beat UF, but BC didn't cooperate with that plan. So now (for the first time ever?) I'm actually rooting for UF to beat the Noles.

I'd say in general I hate the Gators more. For context, I'm 35, grew up in South Miami (but live in the northeast now), and attended Miami when we were dominant in the early 2000s. In my four years we were 5-0 against FSU and 3-0 against UF. ******* glorious. I've always hated UF more because they dodged us and talked **** anyway. Then the degree of scum that they became under Meyer cemented that. The fact that FSU is in our conference now also means that in some ways it's beneficial for us when they're good. So UF is definitely my most hated team. (FSU, OSU, ND all in the top four.) But in this particular case, I'd rather see FSU's streak end. If our College World Series streak had to end, these guys' bowl streak has to now too.

Bigger win is UF losing. They need to be knocked back down a little . Everybody already knows FSU sucks . This offseason will be full of them running their mouth if UF finishes strong

I absolutely hate UF more than FSU but I do not want to see FSU in a bowl game and see that sorry a** coach walk around like he just accomplished something. Let them keep digging their own grave.

Mullen and his staff have put on a clinic in how to develop all units week in and week out. Best coaching staff by far in the state. The development of their OL was unreal. At par with top notch programs if you took in consideration from were they were last year.
