Sadly, the Ed Reed mentality, fire and passion, intelligence, and off the charts ability seem a looooooooong time ago. Maybe the next guy.....

With Als "collective" mindset, you're probably right. No one would know how great Ed Reed could be until he got out from under and left UM. He couldn't play himself into greatness because of Al's rotating players like a top based on a chart rather than their actual game performance.

This play here....is why reed is my second favorite cane player behind mr. "big time players step up in big games". Ed played like he wanted to win the game, not being scared to lose the game

Al would be afraid to go into the locker room with those teams. The best part about watching fsu films is they were the best we had to go against and we still beat them over and over again with the rare exception. They were the closest to being worthy to compete. We were our best against the best back then.
 
Those guys would have locked Golden in his office and told the media he had a stomach ache and was day to day.
