Not sure if it really matters or is something of consideration but I would rather VT win so that it makes the Coastal stronger.

I obviously hate FSU and don't think i could ever root for them...but maybe that's another way to look at the matchup?
 
Logic says you root for FSU. Will make our win over them look better when they actually get a win, and we need to keep VT behind us in the division.
 
Early in the season until you know what you need - the default position should be to cheer against divisional opponents in crossover conference games. I hate FSU too - but I want what’s best for Miami more than I care about FSU suffering. There’ll be plenty of opportunities to root against FSU the rest of the season.

Interesting take. Miami will continue to get a bum wrap so long as the Coastal is considered an inferior division of ACC football. We definitely could benefit from more crossover wins, but FSU? Not sure I can pull the trigger on that one.
 
you should want both fsu and the gators to be 0-11 heading into the last game of the year, every year with no exception. **** them both. keep any idea of the playoffs out of their heads as early as possible to torpedo their recruiting.
 
I’d like to see tech with a conference loss, but I’m more interested in schemes and seeing how far each team has come. I’d be surprised if FSU wins that game.

I watch every Cane, UF, FSU, ND, and UGA game. I root for the canes and I root for the other 4 teams to lose every week. It used to only be UF, FSU, and ND. I added UGA after they hired Kirby and started talking a ton of **** about Miami.

The "I don't root for no one other than the U!!!" crowd sucks. You're not cheating on your wife when you hope for a certain team to win in a matchup between two non-Miami teams.

Always root for FSU loss. Helps tremendously with in-state recruiting -- worry about records for division titles later in the year.

Bingo. I want this team in Charlotte every year. Rooting against our rivals comes secondary to that goal.

There used to be a time when FSU v Miami was a rivalry built on mutual respect.
That sh*t went out the window a while ago. Simply put, FSU fans can't handle success. They got ******* ****y.
That's why I want them to lose every game they play. F*ck FSU.
 
I’d like to smack some sense into any Cane “fan” who thinks it’s somehow acceptable to root for F$U in a week 1 game. If somehow they were playing VT at the end of the year and we knew with 100% certainty we needed VT to lose to them so we’d win the Coastal, fair. But no way in **** should we root for F$U in this game.
 
We want fsu to make them 0-1 in ACC play. It helps us have a potentially massive night home game v fsu with game day. We have to go to Blacksburg which is alway tough and the more ACC losses for them the better rather than deal with tie breakers.
