FSU just needs to be patient. They'll be signing Sonny Dykes from TCU at the end of this season where they can then continue to underperform.

That was Al's first year with the program, following the NCAA attempting to neuter the program, weeks before the season started. This is year SEVEN for Norvell, in an era where you can turn a roster over immediately. That's a huge difference. Again, even though Golden ultimately failed, he failed in a completely different era, with headwinds that you can't ignore.

Mike Norvell managed to go 2-10 at FSU in the modern era, with no probation or significant scholarship losses. He's had 4 losing seasons thus far. Golden had one losing season in his Miami tenure and that was a 6-7 year. Golden struggled, but he was significantly better than Norvell. The only difference is that Norvell hit on a QB that carried his underqualified *** to a great two year run. There's levels to this. Golden was a mediocre(at best) HC, Norvell is significantly worse than that. The ONLY reason he is still employed is because FSU can't afford to eat that buyout.
