Fsu stats

Problem against FSU and Greene is that his best strength is our biggest weakness. We aren't good at covering WR's who run 10-15 yards down the field and then sit in an empty zone, and that's what Greene and O'Leary do really well. And why we couldn't get off the field on 3rd down against FSU last year.

yeah camping out in our open zones was killing us last year. We desperately need a pass rush to help out with that.

their running game was stuffed all game...karlos williams is not impressive sorry. hopefully he remains the starter.

Never judge a team from game one ----- but it felt like his first few steps are really slow - once he got going (only once or twice) he looks like a beast

The same could be said for every running back in college football.
You give Sunny Odagwu the ball with nobody within 10 yards of him and point him downhill and he will look good too.

That's the separation between elite backs like Duke and Gurley and the other guys like Williams.
Everyone looks good when you have a 10 yard gaping hole to gallop through.
It's what happens when the hole is 2 yards wide and only flashing open, when you see elite vision, take over.

I don't think we can look at one game and assume that he will only go to Greene. If there's anything that I think we need to do, its make sure that we get pressure and make him get rid of it quickly. If he has time, he will eat you alive.

Did you see any other FSU receiver getting separation? O'Leary? He looks like he could only get separation if a guy like Curtis Porter were covering him. The freshmen wr's were non existent against a mediocre secondary because they are freshmen, and you can't just run go routes all day long and expect to dominate.

Against Oklahoma State, who were basically starting first year starters at **** near every position?

OSU may win 6 games this year. may win that many. They are not exactly a powerhouse.

Christian Green was getting loose a little.

FSU would be wise to give more carries to Pender as he was far and away better than Williams and has much better vision. Pender will give us fits IMO.

It's one game. All of your analysis or whatnot sounds great, but I'm not basing our gameplan for a game in the middle of November off of the first game of the season.

You are viewing this in a vacuum. When we play them in November it won't be the team from the night of 8/30.

I think we should two-gap, read and react. Bend, and hope they'll make a mistake inside the 20.

After all, yards don't matter.

Sadly there are some dumbasses on this board that believe this ****, and others stating times they are a changing and maybe this will be the norm. This will not change: Defense-Wins-Championships.webp

They are sure as **** not going to be the same team we play. OK St had the whole offseason to think about this game. They key to stopping FSU. You have to stop them from doing something. Either running or throwing. Can't be gashing u running and then drop back with the rapist

Keep hearing this. Did FSU not have a whole offseason to think about this game? Why is this line of thinking one sided?

Yeah and one was thinking we are the best thing since slice bread, we are going to win by 40 like every game last season. One heard they were gonna get slaughtered and probably shouldn't even show up. I know which one takes hold quicker. There is a reason it's hard to repeat as champs in team sports. Not everyone comeback with the same hunger. Plus the intangibles change every year.

Okie St has been a **** good team over the last several years. FSU is just used to the crappy ACC teams that bow down to them. Okie ST wasn't impressed by FSU and played tough and fast. Those kids almost pulled it out. They have a very very good HC.

Yep, doesn't matter if they're trotting out there Matt Fryer reincarnated. If he gets time, he'll shred us.
