FSU Shocker

My brother went to FSU for undergrad because I went to private school, and he took flag football for credit at FSU. I mean, I was jealous, but flag football.

I went to FSU. I had friends who majored in hospitality. They were high and drunk 23 hrs a day and they exerted minimal effort or intelligence to pass these classes. I understand that CFB is a busniess and these kids shouldnt be expected to do calculus but, this major is bs and these kids should be able to put together something passable.

Personally I think there should be a professional athletics major and the classes should focus on teaching these kids how to be a professional athlete. Things like tax and criminal laws, rudimentary money management, social standards and compliance, charity work, etc.

Don't forget "Birth Control 101" taught entirely in case study format by Antonio Cromartie.

When I saw this was The NY Times I was prepared to read with a hyper skeptical eye because they have a huge axe to grind with FSU ever since Winston. After reading it...just more of the same. These "Steve Austin" coaches (some of you may be too young to get that) know what's going on and they should be ashamed. Some of these athletes can/would do better if it were demanded of them; or, more importantly, they demanded it from themselves. It doesn't have to be that way and shouldn't.

Football is hard, they prepare for it; school can be hard, they have to prepare for it too; life is harder and they better be prepared.

Holy jeebus. They don't give a f*ck who they run over or how many lives they ruin, do they? And yet, WE'RE the bad guys... It is indeed a MAD, MAD, MAD, MAD world. This just blows me away that these got**** taxpayer funded landgrant diploma mills/sports franchises can get away with such blatant... evil, there really is no more accurate way to put it,... and then just sweep it under the rug so easily. And NOBODY seems to care.

A course in "beverage management"; is this a joke? How about the Power Point presentation in coffee comparison? LMAO Cashier plagiarizing? Surprise surprise. Isn't he the one who threw away his phone following the Crablegs assault? Bottom line is that's actually a sad story but a typical Trailerhassee scenario where FSU will apparently trample anyone who gets in the way of their prize athletes.

Wait a second, the NY Times? Based on a previous Times' piece, it's clear this white women was being racist to the black male players...Don't believe me?

https://www.nytimes.com/2017/07/19/us/was-that-racist.html?mcubz=3

"...In seven years of living and walking here, I’ve found that most people walk courteously — but that white women, at least when I’m in their path, do not.

Sometimes they’re buried in their phones. Other times, they’re in pairs and groups, and in conversation. But often, they’re looking ahead, through me, if not quite at me. When white women are in my path, they almost always continue straight, forcing me to one side without changing their course. This happens several times a day; and a couple of times a week, white women force me off the sidewalk completely. In these instances, when I’m standing in the street or in the dirt as a white woman strides past, broad-shouldered and blissful, I turn furious.

I turn furious because in these instances I feel small. I always get out of the way, because I was taught at a young age not to bodycheck random people. But I also get out of the way because, as a black man, I’ve learned that bodychecking, bumping or even rubbing against a random white woman can be personally hazardous. So I acknowledge other pedestrians, and reroute. White men and all people of color do the same to me. They offer some form of acknowledgment that we are in each other’s path, that I am there at all."

"...Because explicit in every white woman’s decision not to get out of my way is the expectation that I’ll get out of theirs."

The NY Times can't speak out of both sides of it's mouth (depending on "the narrative") can it????

I don't want to see us behave like FSU. It's an embarrassment and is indicative of systemic societal problems. These schools shoo these players through and do not equip them with the tools to be successful after they are gone. Rinse and repeat and then these guys end up broke and uneducated with an army of kids to feed and the cycle continues. Its pretty simple: have the consciousness to realize the value in an education and therefore put in the work and have the discipline to do what you need to, or fail and lose your eligibility.

It took one post for one of the multitude of FSU cucks on here to inhale that flaming meat spear and white knight for those cvnts.

Same fruitcakes that well wish Dalvin Cook because he's from the area. Ignoring the fact he was cutting out turf up as a souvenir of spitting in his hometowns face.

Clearly another example of our tax dollars at work! I get ****ed that tax dollars are wasted on scholarships instead of going to some that actually want an education. More government waste.

These kids should get special breaks. I am against paying college kids but in terms of academic support they should get everything they need. Extra time to complete work, retake exams, extra credit assignments, etc. The schedules that these kids need to follow are ridiculous and then they are asked to compete against a typical student in the classroom...almost impossible

Did you read the article? It's about plagiarism, favoritism displayed by professors, and falsifying grades and bending rules for student-athletes.

I'm sure none of these things (or worse) are happening/ have happened at Da U. It's amazing how pretentious and utterly ignorant some of these posts are.

Except we paid the price when we had wrong-doings. FSU should as well.

And no, I do not believe those things are currently happening at UM. In the past, yes. Not now.

You're giving degrees to illiterate retards. Literally. And your shīthole of a redneck trailer trash school does nothing to help them, in fact quite the opposite. Instead of having even some lower standards, just enough to make them literate to function in society, you hillbillies can't be bothered. Just give them them the grade or let them cheat their way to a passing grade in coffee drinking 101, and get them on the field. It wouldn't take that much to at least partially educate them, but it's too much trouble for you rednecks.

Go fūck yourself. Your school and program are an embarrassment.

No I didn't. Any good?

It says that the kids are already getting much more help than the rest of the student body and have no excuse not to get a degree. It also said something about you being a dumbass, but I'd lost interest by then.
