From Quality Inn, my thoughts on the SMU loss..

Let’s see what kind of shape the Ferrari is in by years end . 10-2 and a bowl win people will be happy. Tbh I expected 10-2 at best entering the year.
I’m kinda surprised about this. I feel like expectations were reset for all of us after sweeping September.

If I was a betting man, i’d put money on Miami losing 1 more game and not showing up for the whatever bowl. That’s Miami now and has been for the longest time
I’m actually intrigued to see how hardheaded Mario is . What level of insanity does he live in? UL could’ve been viewed as a fluke in his head , well this is two out of three with the same issues . Will he adjust things or just beat his brains into smithereens to end the season? If nothing changes next week from roster / rotations , formations , game planning and handling of situational I might check out completely .

that's my guess ... i could be wrong ... does your friends have that type of money?
Nope, regular folk but what I mean is the average cuban is as ****ed and over cristobal as the rest of the fan base. From what I read here and other places it's the Colombus Mafia/Cartel with deep pockets that brought him, very few but filthy rich that will only support a cuban coach. Our last 2 coaches are the only 2 cuban head coaches in college football,I'm sure it's just a coincidence we hired them back to back and apparently they won't give the same support to an outsider.

Quick question , did Mario get a ton of concussions while playing football? This is the only way to explain why person is like this

Well said. I don't doubt Mario's desire to bring UM back to where we all want to be and I will never doubt how hard the man works, but he's got to take his hands off the wheel as it relates to the on-field, gameday product. The better question for him to ask himself is, "Am I the problem"?
Yep! Probably one of the only things that’s going to stand in his way. Himself!

One of our biggest problems is the lack of athleticism at qb. Im watching games all day and qbs are hurting the opponent with their legs and movement. No more statue qbs. On those snap infractions, I dont see them. They never show the replay, either........

Our offense is so vanilla. But we dont have explosive players other than Toney.. Moore showed burst last game but we dont play him much.
I’m watching GT right now and they move the ball at will with a bunch of slow dudes with 2 impact players. Yes King is a game changer but the play calls are night and day different. If we had King at QB he would hand the ball off 35x a game and drop back another 30x.

We absolutely should have Blown SMU out. They did literally nothing to win. They let us beat ourselves through coaching and terrible execution.
I will agree with you it should have been a two score victory. But hey, Notre Dame struggled with an AWFUL BC team today. Plenty of shoulda coulda woulda situations throughout the CFB landscape every week. That’s why they play the games. We didn’t play our best today but still should have won a close contest. Those bad calls against us negated our ability to pull it out.

All he needs to do is look at his former boss at Alabama.

Nick Saban realized the CFB game had changed and he could no longer win at a championship level by running the ball and playing defense. He knew there would be games he simply had to score more points regardless of philosophy. He never waived physicality but that term no longer meant winning 14-10. Sometimes you need to win 45-42.

The losing isn’t bad enough it’s the losing and watching a caveman beating his head in the wall offensively. Playing this pace with no explosives leaves you no wiggle room for penalties or errors . Today was as bad of a Mario coached game since maybe MTSU. It looked like a total **** show at times . Right down to 13 attaching the ball at the 10 kicking it into the End zone . The most simple things but this teams ***.
Isn't he doing that because, as you posted in another thread, they know what they have in Beck?

If we had King with the exact same play calling we would be undefeated. Just the threat of him pulling the ball on certain hand offs opens up huge running lanes for our backs.

If your qb is a pick machine putting him in tight condensed sets is not helping the situations . It also makes it easier to disguise blitzes and getting pressure . Using the field as a 12th man with more space to cover helps all parties. They’re handling him the opposite way as they should imo.

He was probably angry the way they used win games at Bama
I would be curious to know why Mario left Alabama during a multiple-NC run for a lateral move to Oregon.

Or did Nick Saban fire him? He raves about Mario's recruiting ability but the Alabama machine kept right on humming after Mario left.
