Wow, okay. Just making it into the tournament in year 1 would be impressive, I think. (Even in bball.)

How respectable do you think we make it against UF? Lose by 20?

At this point, I would be happy to be within 20 of them, as last year I would not have expected to be within 45 of them. I can see us going from 18th to the top 7 in the ACC. Maybe I am a bit optimistic, but I like what he is putting together.

Yeah, 20 seems optimistic. Maybe a 30-point loss is more realistic.

Can you please expand a bit more on what you like about what he is putting together?
 
We added guys who have played well and have experience in the BIG and our D should be far better than last year which should make every game at the very least competitive, which again is a far cry better than last season. Also added what I feel is good young talent from HS. I always like the European players, they always seem to know far more about playing team ball than Americans, so that should help.
I may be wrong, I hope I am not, but I definitely see a much more enjoyable season this year. ****, I stopped watching last year around midseason because the product was that awful.
 
do we think he had/has enough time to land a elite '26 class??

Yall have us losing by 30 to Florida?! Rough crowd to think they’re going to treat us like a bad mid major. I don’t see that happening.

I feel this team is deep and jai has done the polar opposite of what L and his staff did late in their tenure’s…. Find pieces that match the identity Jai is trying to instill in this program. I’m excited as **** for the versatility this team has 1-8 and there’s an argument to be made 1-10 like what Hamilton would do at FSU

I'd have liked to have seen a couple more 3 point shooters of note but God knows we needed an influx of players willing to defend. (And he seems to have gotten the needed help there.)

Bottom line is I don't think anyone really knows what we have yet. We'll all have an idea by the time ACC play starts in earnest.

This seems to be a popular refrain around here but some of ya'll think that folks that shoot 40+% from 3 simply grow on trees. Donaldson, Malovec and Dovrat all shot north of 35% from 3 last year and Tru Washington was right around 34%. Not elite by any means but there's enough shooting on the roster.

Hopefully. (We never have had a shortage of long-range bombers here, going back many seasons).

I still would've liked to see a true pure shooter in the lineup. In today's game, the importance of three point marksmen can't be underestimated. To the point where I wouldn't recruit any perimeter players who couldn't shoot the 3 ball with confidence.

This is ***** type ****, talking about a 30 point loss to UF. It’s not like they have the mojo they did last year. Every year will be different. Defending a title is no easy work, everyone will give UF their best.

We will see how our squad Gels in the next few months but in no way am I accepting a 30pt L to UF.

Do I expect to win? Not exactly but I expect competitiveness
