Well, we got a bit of help from Athens. Not much.
How, that they barely beat GT? We are screwed. And beyond what is our own doing, we’re screwed and are being screwed. The committee set up rules that they refuse to follow in our case but follow them in the case of others. Assuming we beat Pitt, we should seek an injunction staying the playoffs and raising all kinds of issues from breach of contract, illusory contract, anti-trust violations - get em! It’s not defensible in court why they’re doing here.

Yeah, a lawsuit would definitely work.

I hate refs so much--it's clear the SEC has called to protect TAMU.

This doesn't make sense. Texas A&M is a lock for the playoffs. A literal lock. The SEC would make a case for Texas to be in as well. There is no reason to cheat for Texas A&M.

I don’t know if it would do anything. The committee or ncaa made a promise and inducement and that included a standard that head to head is the first tiebreaker and then they broke that by not only not applying the standard to us but applying it to others. So that’s arbitrary. And the NCAA already knows they’re vulnerable to anti-trust claims if brought - this is tied to them whether they like it or not.

I haven’t practiced law in 30 years and I don’t know what claims are really available and what the case law says. But you tell me how this isn’t an unfair business practice or an illusory contract if we do what we needed to by their rule and they refuse to follow their rule for us but not others?

I’m with you that it’s flucked up. Just saying I seriously doubt any of the CFP “rules” are legally binding and/or enforceable by law, but I also don’t have a JD so I’m just opining.
