Like I said in my ā€œ12 centsā€ thread, I don’t want to hear the excuse about Jarren being a red-shirt freshman. We have too many sample sizes of true & red shirt freshmen coming in balling and moments not being too big for them.

What I saw from Bo Nix was part Bo Nix & part coaching adjustment.

FSU went 5-7 in 2018 and had 90th ranked D (120th against pass)
USCe went 7-6 in 2018 and had 68th ranked D (90th against run)
Oregon went 9-4 had 49th ranked D (83rd against pass)

UF went 10-3, was ranked #8 starting season, and 12th ranked D against the pass.

All the teams mentioned before UF were garbage in at least 1 area of defense. Just a theory- playing a bad defense helps QBs. It's a wacky hypothesis, I know.

Jayden Daniels went 15/24 284yds 2TD's & 0INT's
Hank Bachmeier went 30/51 407yds 1TD & 1INT
Sam Howell went 15/24 245yds 2TD's & 0INT's
Bo Nix went 13/31 177yds 2TD's & 2INT's

The common thread was, despite being True Freshman making their first start they all threw it down the field when they needed it to.

Jarren is a Red Frosh but made his first start as well, he'll be fine, he just needs to take more risks & not be afraid of making a mistake. INT's are inevitable, they're going to happen, every single great QB that has ever lived has thrown them, Jarren just has to trust it when it's there & let the ball go.

That is 100% correct.

Which means there shouldn't be any excuses for when we play UNC right?...

You know what else those teams didn’t have? 4 turnovers like the team we played did. Weird that somehow they still found a way to win without the help. Know what else our team didn’t have? A double digit deficit.

I’m just mad because I think Jarren is better than all 3 and I think we are better than the 3 teams that one. But here we are 0-1. I’m also kinda hammered but whatever

Bo Nix’s numbers are awful. Awful. And the last time I checked, I don’t believe he had two freshman tackles playing in front of him. He was 13-31 177. 2/2. LMAO. You brothers can’t be serious. They got lucky.

Not to mention the fact that we had Brevin drop a TD and JT drop a TD. Plus the other dropped balls. If we catch the TD passes, and our kicker Hits a FG, JW gets a win and the stats aren’t even close.

I want to believe this but the failures of every QB since Berlin and every coaching staff since Coker year 2 have me very skeptical that we have anything here with Enos and Williams. I am holding out judgment. I just can’t get burned again.

IMO he's going to kill it against NC. If I was home I'd be betting this game if it's 7 or under.
