Freshman LB Trio

its rare to see a situation like this. it took a lot of unusual circumstances to force us to start 3 freshman LBs. We should enjoy the ride because, barring injuries, they have the potential to really flourish.
 
Losing grace hurt no doubt but if McCloud and jaquan can hold their own in that spot and don't cost us any game or anything dramatic then it was a good thing to lose him and have those two pick up experience for the next few years
 
They've looked as-advertised so far, and fun to read their thoughts about each other. That bit where Shaq pointed out that Tech is "not really good at moving up front" made me laugh. Definitely true, and definitely not something players usually say in an interview 3 days before the game, if you care about bulletin board material. Hopefully they're just so savage they don't care if Tech is hype.
 
First big test this week. Stopping the option requires d-line penetration and great tackling/discipline from the LB's

Grace would have had big year but the upside of losing him is that these three will play together as a unit for at least 3 years and by year three will be monsters and on level with the best we ever had (baring injuries).

Shaq is proving to be a serious thinking MLB and true qb of defense. Kid reminds me of classic Miami brainy QB, only with beast of a body.
 
So we went from the Heat big 3 to the U big 3. I'll take that any day of the week.
 
I do think they'll become the Bermuda Triangle. But not yet. McCloud, especially, is too raw. If Owens is truly healthy as advertised, he will be starting against FSU. Losing Grace is a major blow.

bring that negativity somewhere else. mccloud is going to kill florida state.
 
Pinckney, to me is the best right now. Shaq is the most consistent and cerebral. Mccloud has crazy potential.

LB being our weakest position on defense this year will turn out to be probably our strongest within a few years because of these 3.
I do feel sorry for incoming LB recruits. Gunna have to be a beast to get a lot of PT with these dudes ahead of them on the depth chart.

Cloud aint giving up that spot to no one.
