And THIS is why I can’t with our fanbase. Stop thinking that the University President gives a **** about sports, that’s not their job. The donors and AD are tasked with doing what needs to be done to make the department(and University)attractive to conferences. The President needs to fundraise and build a high end faculty and administrative staff. That’s his job.

Frenk wasn’t nearly the fundraiser Shalala was and honestly, he wasn’t nearly the leader on campus. He was an absentee President and from people I know that are still on campus, Frenk never resonated with the faculty and student body. The next leader has to be better in those areas.

You are kidding yourself if you think the President is not involved in these conference realignment discussions as well. He needs to do it all, fix academics, fundraise and build a relationship with the other conferences. Shalala was a great fundraiser but she famously didnt care much for athletics which is why we have slid so far.
