Frank Gore

He’s like Curtis Martin when it comes to being underrated. 2 quiet dudes just putting up #s every year

Although not in the same exact class, how about Steven Jackson ? Dude had like 7 or 8 straight 1,000 yard seasons on absolutely atrocious teams, they knew the ball was going to him and he still did work.

The Dolphins are rebuilding and need to know what they have in Drake and Ballage. Keeping soon-to-be 36 year-old Frank Gore around is counterproductive to that.

If Ballage breaks out, great. If not, that's also great because you're trying to tank. If Gore gets another 700 yards, that really doesn't help Miami's plan because he is playing out the string. One of the all-time greats, yes. But at this point in his career he is not what the Dolphins need.

The PR from having Frank break the record in your jersey is priceless, Miami no less.

And if you're truely tanking, he would have provided a good diversion from the losing.

Where does it end? Do we bring back Cam Wake as well for appearances? They need to see what the young bucks can do on the team. I wish Frank the best, but he’s not what the Dolphins need. Neither is any other mid-30’s player.

LOL

Wake isn't about to break one of the NFL's most impressive records or is some other mid - 30's player.

Frank isn't holding any one back, and Miami's backs aren't any thing special.

Frank Gore and Mister Wayne were the true blue. on the field and off the field. I look up to them. not saying that the other canes were not but these two individuals were the real folks in my book.

It’s a team sport, I don’t care what records any individual player may or not break. How do you know Drake or Ballage aren’t special? I think Gase held Drake back with his ego. Ballage looked good in spurts, too.

Whatya expect from the guy who hosted “Tim Tebow and the Gators” day in the hurricanes home stadium.

That was my last day as a dolphins fan btw.
A number of months ago I was involved in a conversation with a group of out of state friends that had veered off into who could top who with the most inept, foolish sports happening where my contribution was the story you referenced.

The sheer idiocy of this happening and the ineptness Ross and his associates demonstrated caused my friends to question if that story was really true. When I assured them it was in fact true they all agreed that was the bell ringer.

In my view, as long as clueless Ross owns the Dolphins the chances they will become a championship caliber team is at best a longshot.

By the way, can't wait for Ross to hold a Dolphins game halftime celebration honoring the Ohio State team who was gifted our National Championship when Terry Porter stole it from the Canes.

Gore to the Bills on a one year contract. The fact this was a guy with serious injury issues since he was young, makes it downright jaw dropping what he has achieved in the league. I'd think he'll probably pass Barry into #3 this year. Incredible! One of the all time great Canes.
- could not agree more - one of the greats

Ross is only interested in the fans having a good experience. Winning on the field is an after thought.

A long time ago Miami was a model franchise, now we're the Browns.

I dunno, man, 522yds seems doable. Obviously that'll depend on how much burn he gets with Shady still there as well as Ivory. But we're talking less than 35yds per game if he stays healthy and were to play in every one. As long as he isn't 100% a backup and doesn't get the rock, and especially if he plays a second year there, I think he absolutely gets there.
Would love to see him get at least the 522 this year. If he can pass Sanders, then it gives him a better shot for the HoF for those people (voters) who don't have him as a lock or on the boarder.
