Frank Gore

I was always more of a Willis fan than gore, but I knew gore was better lol. If gore never tore his acls he would of been in the conversation with Barry for goat
Love Gore but people forget, Willis had one of the more serous knee injuries you will ever see. He blew out all three ligaments, not just an ACL. Many would not come back from that at all. And he still ended up putting up 8500 yards and 70 TDs in the League. It’s hard to compare injuries and recoveries. But pre-injury, Willis had some Bo jackson in him the way he could blow through a hole or turn a corner. Gore was and is a totally different runner. Just sick that they were on the same team, along with Portis.

I remember watching that injury live.

It is not a knock on Gore, who I love, to observe that Willis McGahee could well have had twice the NFL career he had if he hadn’t had that knee injury. Injuries happen, but McGahee was never the same guy again.

Gore too dealt with his injuries, and his recoveries and longevity are probably unprecedented. But with the exception of Gore’s ‘06 where he topped 1600 yards, McGahee’s performances were somewhat comparable, but for the longevity. Both guys got 1200 yards or more 3 times (1199 if you want to be precise). I am not contending Willis’s nfl career overall is comparable, because it isn’t, given longevity and ‘06 in particular.
