Seriously. All this chatter about how our coaches can't close.

News flash; Miami has lost 11 of its past 18 games and is on its fifth head coach in the past 14 seasons—now 99-71 since Coker's last season. It's really a shock when verbal commits bail out and wind up in Columbus, Tuscaloosa or Athens instead of Coral Gables? That's really on a Banda or a Rumph for not being able to reel in these front-running kids who want to play for an instant contender? GTFOH.

Diaz said it when he took over; the Catch 22 of needing to keep the best local talent home—needing to win first before those kids start committing, but figuring out how to win before that in order to pique their (real) interest in the first place—hence the deep dive into the Transfer Portal this off-season.
Dan Enos forcing that under center play action offense with this OL is an example of why we can’t recruit - because our coaching is shît and has been shît so kids don’t want to be here because they see the inept cluelessness.

The gaytor fans will tell you that Mullet’s not really a good recruiter, and he ran a shîtshow in the offseason, but he’s coaching up his team and we’re not and that’s the difference.

We’ve won one title in the shîtty CoRstal in 15 years when we’ve had the most talent every year. Start coaching the talent we have appropriately and we won’t have this problem. Until then, we’re not on their level and I hate that and I hate that we keep hiring people who do the same loser shît over and over.

mullen isnt a good recruiter, but UF has a larger recruiting brand than miami and same with FSU. they will always get some big names to go there just simply off the name and brand (not to mention conference). they still get destroyed by the elite big boys in recruiting as much as we do (UGA has destroyed them this cycle with their own leans just to troll them)

It is one thing to lose South Florida recruits to Baga, Clem$on, o$u, or even Uga. Honestly, at this point, I am more surprised when we keep a kids like Frierson or Hall than when we lose a kid on that level to one of those 4 schools. But it is an entirely different, unacceptable thing to lose Miami-Dade kids to instate rivals, the p$u's of the world, or even schools like Syracuse.

Banda Bear manages to routinely do both. As stated by others, he just may not be cut out for recruiting in this environment.

I agree 💯 percent. We do not get the same leeway. Chise said Manny had to win this year, including the CoRstal, to stop the bleeding and show that we are coaching kids up and winning, and that’s just not happening right now.

You guys still don't get it. What makes you think this program can compete regularly with the Big DOGs in recruiting? Even if you take bags out of the equation, this program is so far removed from what y'all think it is. Program is recruiting at the level of middle of the pack program. We are right on par with where we should be. We will get lucky from time to time on some big timers who want to stay home. We have a coaching staff comprised of upstarts and buddies. Miami is equivalent to Michigan St. without the snow

Exactly.

One of the biggest problems with this program; outside expectations and what some fans "think" things should be, versus what "is".

99-71 since Coker's last year. Fifth head coach in 14 seasons. No ACC titles. One Coastal title in 15 tries. A perennial 7-6 team for upwards of 13 years.

All this talk about some "standard" or expectation based on the past—never taking into consideration the way this sport has changed (especially financially) since the Canes' last run.

Wrote about it here days back; the cold, hard truth about where this program is at—yet some think local 5-stars should just come to Miami because it's the hometown team with some rich history .... a history these kids know NOTHING about as they were literally weren't even alive for UM's 2001 run, let alone the ancient 80s and 90s.

Today's kids want to win immediately—they don't want to be part of some rebuild; hence why Diaz is changing up recruiting and will go after Miami-style kids who want to be a part of the program .... not these clowns who like UM in their final four with a few other big names and ultimately put on that Alabama or Georgia hat on NSD.

Yall have to get out of this way of thinking its not the 90's anymore players want players to go where they want and if its UM Cool if not ill meet you at the top. This is all business its not the same passion and pride for a particular school anymore. Dudes want the best opportunity to make it.

I’ve watched 4 weeks of **** on that field. The kids aren’t progressing and they can’t even find a way to get Lingard on the field. These kids are watching the same **** show.

This **** ****es me off.

Fans and players alike with the "its just business"and "gotta feed the fam" garbage.

Tolbert Bain and Al Blades Sr would choke your *** out if you said/did anything like this back then.

Maybe DJ should be spending more time on film study so he isn't giving up pass play after pass play and letting his team down by being suspended vs UFag.

This generation of players for the most part are just big giant pussies.

Banda going to Banda... always drama with his targets/commits smh. This mf can not recruit. This is disappointing to me because i was really high on Francois... sigh

Manny diaz is are coach he is a terrible recruiterr this shouldnt suprise anyone

That's the key reason the "but but Dabo also had no experience" argument for Diaz fails. Dabo was an elite recruiter as a position coach and carried that into his head coaching , even when Clemson was struggling. Diaz has generally been a poor recruiter even in good years.

Has been since rumph started here.

He couldn’t even get his own players to come here from AH.

Where’s the white knights coming saying, but he develops. When you have a literal ex bartender and a DB coach that can’t recruit south Florida at Miami. It’s a recipe for disaster.
So you think if corey raymond here the ah dudes would have come?
