Fran Brown for DC?

First, because it means Diaz isn’t going the easy and frankly expected route of just promoting Banda/Patke.

Second, the Big 12 is notorious for awful defenses. It’s hard to read into how much of Baylor’s defensive issues were his responsibility.

And lastly, as you said, he’s an elite recruiter, which we badly need.

While I agree with your points, I'd like us to go after someone more proven from an Xs and Os standpoint to head the defense.

Young guy from my hometown. I'd be intrigued by what he could bring recruiting-wise. I assume he'd just be running Diaz's system.

I think Diaz will be in charge.
He already said he won't be. This brown would not be the dc if he came here and wasnt going to be at temple. Whoever diaz was going to pair with him was going to actually call the game and rumors was that was going to be the dc/lb coach from la tech.

Guy cant coach a lick. Great idea!

Manny could hire Mark Donofrio back and the slurpers would rejoice. its so pathetic to watch how certain people fall in line.

He said on Joe rose that he had people he trusted already in place

Not sure where brown would fit in. I sure as **** don't want any big 12 DC

You think it's possible we bring him in on a role that isn't DC for his recruiting abilities but have someone else for DC not named Banda or Patke? Or is that a dream at this juncture?

Interesting hire if the rumor mill is on point today. I agree move Simpson to DL/Associate HC, promote Patke to LB coach, Banda as Co-DC and DB coach, and Rumph as Safeties coach. Sure with the reduction in dollars allocated to the HC position that Diaz can spread some additional funds around, including for the critical OL coach, ST coach, and OC positions.

Why? He has a reputation as a good recruiter but Baylor's defense statistically was awful. Their pass defense is below average in a lot of statistical categories.

No one can defend in that conference because offenses so good. BAMA gives up 35 a game in Big 12.

He isnt a dc and has never been one. This would be likely just for recruiting if he is as good as some are claiming.

If he comes he would be at the very least Co-DC.

Probably with Banda.
