"It's like Miami has 15 defenders out there"...reminds of the picture someone photoshopped of Sean Taylor after he decimated FSU...showed him at all the db postions

They kept banging on about the 80s all week and it got annoying, but in the end it was true. It's like everybody forgot about speed. You'd think after the beatings we used to hand out, ND would be quicker but they must have forgotten. I'm sure they'll send us a thank you card for the reminder.

I remember that photoshop. Came because Chris Rix said he felt like there were like 6 Sean Taylor's on the field that day lol

There’s athletes everywhere, but when it comes to football south Florida athletes are just on another level when it comes to speed and aggression.

Fowler that dude, man. After ****streit tried to start talking **** about attendance at next weeks game, Fowler stopped him in his tracks FAST.

Man **** fowler and cuckstreit.
Only guy that gets props@ eSECpn besides vilma is Desmond.

The rest can choke on ****

Bama brought back size and they all copied. We will be destroying that again.

Clemson won with quickness/ speed athletes. FSU also.

If you have to play Alabama in conference, you need a team built to handle their size and depth. And Alabama's guys are pretty quick, also. But it's hard for its competitors to out size or out speed them.

Mostly in CFB, the speed concept has proliferated. Wide open offenses, dual threat QBs, fast skill position guys. If anything, Miami has been relatively lacking in speed for way too long. Richt said it when he got here.

We aren't near where we should or could be in team speed yet. We will be getting faster at WR and DB and RB and LB. BUT, the speed we have today is important to note, because it is '80s like, albeit hard to replicate. We have a really talented, quick DL. McIntosh, Thomas, Jackson, Harris, Garvin, these guys are real fast, and Norton is quick off the ball. And they aren't just quick, they're overall really good. Combine that with a Manny Diaz pressure D, and our DBs look fast because opposing QBs are making hasty passing decisions with hands in their face. In truth, our DBs in 2-3 years will be faster than what we have today. And our LBs probably will too. But if our DL doesn't get this type of pressure, you may not notice it as much.

Yeap, we are nowhere near what we can be yet. We absolutely need more speed, Golden seem to hate it.

have to disagree about Clemson and FSU. Sure they had some athletes, so does Bama, but all three have fattening programs going like NE use too. Clemson and Bama look much bigger than everyone else in college. NE and OU had speed at skill positions and QBs that ran too.

What hurt us the most was failure to obtain the DTs we always had. Those big dancing bears in the middle were the key to our D aggression. They would collapse pocket and allow for everyone else to play aggressive. We have the right type of DTs again. Our overall speed kept break out big plays from taking it to the house and gave us chance to line up again. We are starting to see that again. I agree that our DBs and LBs will be faster. We will only get better. And those fat *** Bama, Clemson, UGA and fsu linemen will suffer the fate of the ND guys last night.

SEC plays no offense, the Big 12 plays no defense and the Big 10, well they don't play at all. We will remake the game again.

he tried everything he possibly could to slow us down.

Herbie was the one who said it not Fowler. I am interested to see what the attendance is next week and if the student section is completely full.

On a side note, I think this is why we still struggled with FSU this year...they have equal speed at least for now.

Cheapest lower bowl seats on stubhub are $60-$70. Pretty unheard of for a noon kick against UVA. The fans will bring it again, don’t you worry.

The speed comments reminds me of the time before the Cotton Bowl where our team was to meet with reporters. As they arrived one of the reporters thought the team was still not in the room because they looked so small. When he found out it was the team he felt sorry for them since Texas players were so much bigger...after the game he said they grew overnight into incredible hulks!

Texas on line 1....I love South Fl players and show up in big games , but got a great laugh

In the last 35 years, teams from the state of Florida have won 11 national championships and played for 7 more. Teams from Texas have played for 2 and won 1. Coincidence?

I know Im going against the norm on a South Florida site and I agree with Florida and the championship. But believe me Texas has every coach in college here Bama and ***eyes win with Tx talent. Florida in the south exactly is a hot bed of super athletes, but it's not as large of pool and some super star divas. No doubt I like other Texans are not loyal to TX when beaches in Cali and Miami can be a culture shock.
