Fowler that dude
They kept banging on about the 80s all week and it got annoying, but in the end it was true. It's like everybody forgot about speed. You'd think after the beatings we used to hand out, ND would be quicker but they must have forgotten. I'm sure they'll send us a thank you card for the reminder.
Clemson won with quickness/ speed athletes. FSU also. They kept banging on about the 80s all week and it got annoying, but in the end it was true. It's like everybody forgot about speed. Bama brought back size and they all copied. We will be destroying that again.

If you have to play Alabama in conference, you need a team built to handle their size and depth. And Alabama's guys are pretty quick, also. But it's hard for its competitors to out size or out speed them.
Mostly in CFB, the speed concept has proliferated. Wide open offenses, dual threat QBs, fast skill position guys. If anything, Miami has been relatively lacking in speed for way too long. Richt said it when he got here.
We aren't near where we should or could be in team speed yet. We will be getting faster at WR and DB and RB and LB. BUT, the speed we have today is important to note, because it is '80s like, albeit hard to replicate. We have a really talented, quick DL. McIntosh, Thomas, Jackson, Harris, Garvin, these guys are real fast, and Norton is quick off the ball. And they aren't just quick, they're overall really good. Combine that with a Manny Diaz pressure D, and our DBs look fast because opposing QBs are making hasty passing decisions with hands in their face. In truth, our DBs in 2-3 years will be faster than what we have today. And our LBs probably will too. But if our DL doesn't get this type of pressure, you may not notice it as much.

Yeap, we are nowhere near what we can be yet. We absolutely need more speed, Golden seem to hate it.
Herbie was the one who said it not Fowler. I am interested to see what the attendance is next week and if the student section is completely full.
There’s athletes everywhere, but when it comes to football south Florida athletes are just on another level when it comes to speed and aggression.
Texas on line 1....I love South Fl players and show up in big games , but got a great laugh
