They churn them out.

14 DL or EDGE players drafted in the past like 10 years. Big time hand in the dirt pass rushers, big nose tackles, penetrating interior defensive linemen, super freak athletic edges, undersized tacticians on the edge, five stars, four stars, three stars...they've got their portfolio of defenders up front diversified . If Michigan is offering...we should be trailing some of those and rolling the dice. We can out recruit ******* Jim Harbaugh, but he and his staff have a good eye...especially with players from South Florida...they have a nice cherry pick success rate. Mike Morris, Josh Uche, (not a DL or EDGE) Devin Bush.
While it's true that Michigan has that DLine rep, they've had a lot of turnover in the defensive staff. It's like Miami and TE reputation.....but the current staff doesn't have anyone on it that has ever developed a high caliber TE.

Long gone are the days of Don Brown and Mattison, and then even McDonald and Shaun Nua in more recent years, the DC and DL coaches after Brown/Mattison. The new Dline coach and D-Coordinator are only coming into their 2nd years since coming over from ND and Vandy. I think Partridge has been there 5 and Jay has obviously been around a while, but you get my point. It's a good validation of the kid to have offers from schools with good reps of identifying talent in those positions but i temper that just a bit with all the coaching and player turnover you see in CFB these days.
