Former player criticism of Offense

I'm not reading through 5/6 pages. Are people saying we need more talent?

LMAO.
Man c'mon.

We do at QB and O-line absolutely. We also need our WR to grow up along with our TE. No team in the country is dominating anything when they have 8-9 true freshmen and Soph playing as starters.

I don't give two $hits either about OSU. Yes they seem to have an issue (I don't know what it is since I don't watch them enough). But here's the thing...I'd be willing to bet Urban will be making some coaching changes to try to rectify the problem (not to mention they have gone thru DC changes so yes there could be some issues schematically). Point being is CMR will NOT (in my opinion) make the necessary changes. He's running plays from 30 years ago for christ sakes, so what more do you need to know? Urban will fire/demote someone (**** maybe himself lol), believe that.

Point to OSU all you want man...all I know is Urban has 3 rings and won one with a 3rd string QB (so he gets some leeway like it or not)...but CMR can't even get us a QB1. And Urban is not a defensive mastermind...CMR is (supposedly).

Ding ding ding!

WR and TE hasn't been our issue. It's been QB and O-line, which haven't gotten better. That's the development aspect.

Look at UF last season. They were an absolute mess on offense. Worst than what we're seeing from Miami right now. Franks was considered a worst version of Rosier. In year 1, their offensive line is competent and Mullen caters his offense to focus on Franks (which isn't much), but they rely on their receivers to make plays.

Over the last 3 years since Richt has been here, we've out-recruited UF on that side of the ball. So again, it's not a talent issue.

So who do we hire to win championships? There are only a few elite coaches in college football and none of them are coming to Miami.

I don’t have an answer for that. I was strictly talking about the assertion that we don’t have talent. Again, I’ve stated that we have more talent (regardless of class/experience) than everyone in the ACC besides Clemson (and probably on par with FSU right now). So given just that info, we should win the Coastal EASILY in most years...if you don’t you are either underdeveloping your players or can’t out-scheme what should be an inferior coach given all of his experience.

I never said we don’t have talent. I listed where we do and do not have much talent. We don’t have talent at QB and seriously lack talent on O-Line. The two most important positions on offense.

We've signed two 4-star QBs the last two cycles. Most of our O-line consists of 4-star players. Those respective players aren't being developed properly. For the millionth time, it's a development and scheme issue, not talent.

Last two classes which leads me to my point the most talent we have is young. How do you expect players to come in an immediately be able to compete on a national championship level? That’s unrealistic.

Maybe not let Allison transfer would've been a good start. And even then, I've seen 1st and 2nd year players at QB lead better offenses than what we have.

Bama/Clemson/OSU all have 5-8 players in the starting 22 that have only been on campus 2 years or less (RS SO not included then), so it’s not that much of a gap. If you want to keep saying we don’t have enough talent or we have young talent, go ahead. Do whatever it takes to make you sleep better at night. The fact is we have enough talent to win the coastal 9 out of 10 years. We can even beat Clemson probably 2 out of those 10 (assuming we could make necessary adjustments/changes).

Do we have QB’s as good as those freshmen leading those teams? I would like to have seen Williams gets snaps if Richt felt Kosi wasn’t good enough.

I agree that we should win the coastal 90% of the time. The loss to Virginia was brutal.

Who knows? Perry seems to have a much shorter leash than that of a RS Sr. And we really don't know what we have in Williams. But given that those two were highly rated QBs and that Richt's kid is the QB coach, I seriously doubt that the aforementioned QBs were mis-evaluated from a recruiting perspective.

Not to beat a dead horse...but who’s fault is that?? The QB coach? The HC? Either way, its a Richt. I mean when you only target 1 QB a year, you’re asking for trouble. If you told a QB “you’ll never start for me” when you took the job, but he’s been a starter for 1.5 years...you aren’t doing enough to rectify the problem. You brought in 2 QBs (not Golden leftovers), but they both appear to be head cases...you missed on your evals. Bottom line...our QB issues are a direct result of Richt (either one, I don’t care you choose).

No one is asking for NC's...just to consistently run through the Coastal...that's it.

blah blah blah

we have more talent on offense than anyone in the Coastal, by far, and should be playing significantly better offense. Are we harnessing that talent? NO Are we playing above or below the talent level? BELOW.

same **** with D'Onofrio's scheme. the results on the field were significantly below our talent level. The same thing is happening with our offense.

Richt runs a pro style type offense and always has. He doesn’t have the players that fit his scheme unfortunately and you are correct he won’t adjust his 30yr old playbook. He wants big blocking WR and a dominant line to run the ball behind. He only takes shots when he can set it up with the play action. Welp we don’t have a line to be able to do that. It a combination of scheme and overal talent.

Also Boulware rotated snaps on a UT team that went 0-8 in the SEC and was one of the worst in college football hahaha thanks for making my point. We got a transfer we are expecting to be some All-ACC guard. He is serviceable that is it.

When we hired Richt - and some of his first games weren't going well - I said it - Richt is stuck at Georgia/SEC power run crap - and we're not set up for it!

Golden - couldn't pull his head out of his *** - and USE Miami speed!

Richt - can't pull his head out of his *** - and USE Miami speed! Old-assed plays that any fan can predict being called, play after play , two out of three times.
