I’m sure Richt and UM don’t care about message board criticism

But, living in the Midwest I listen to about 4/5 different weekly Canes podcasts throughout the week. And lately Kelvin Harris, Damione Lewis (who helps out at FIU) and Ryan Collins have all expressed frustrations and broken down how:
1. Predictable the playcalling is
2. The lack of creativity, motion, formation
3. The snapcount / clap bs
4. Underutilizing JT4

DLew had a really good analysis of our running game and blocking scheme and why he thought we had so much trouble getting push

So, as close as the “U Fam” network is, is this enough for Richt to finally take notice and either change himself or hire an OC?

If us average fans can predict what the play is with consistency I bet Ed Reed, Ray Lewis can with even more accuracy and I bet it drives them crazy.

We have below average QB’s so there are only so many things you can do offensively. Not making excuses for Richt because he has to try something but look at what we are putting on the field.

QB- Rosier(probably wouldn’t start anywhere else in D1)
Kosi&Cade- no clue what their problems are
Williams-Freshman

RB-our most solid group but no elite NFL talent showing yet.

TE-Two true freshmen and that’s it. Polendy sucks.

WR- two upperclassman and one wouldn’t play many at many other D1 Schools w/Langham.
Cager solid but overall average, nothing special and wouldn’t start at 50% of other achools
JT4 elite- have to get him the ball
Harley- Average
Pope,Wiggins,Hightower, Ezzard, Njoku all freshmen

LT- St Louis serviceable but wouldnt start at 50% of other schools
LG- Jones is trash, Boulware is solid but wouldn’t start at 50% of other schools
C-Solid but that’s it
RG-Donaldson should start to excel back at nature position.
RT- Scaife true freshman.

I mean how can any of you look at that and expect us to be something amazing on offense?

Pretty much zero talent with upperclassman. Doubt any of them make the NFL besides possibley Homer.

Then you have 9-10 true freshmen and sophmore playing starter snaps basically.

I’m honestly not sure where to place the blame. Some on Golden and the previous staff for leaving nothing in the tank on offense besides Richards and Homer and Richards is now done. Richt has only recruited two real full classes coming off of the Golden era and probation. This thing is going to take time to turn around and that’s all there is to it. We see what upperclassmen leadership and NFL talent can do for a team...just look at our defense. Offense is a couple of years away...the worry for me is the defense going to be able to reload after this class leaves? Not sure I see it in recruiting yet.

This is an extremely good post. There's a lot of reasons we are struggling on offense against good teams. Richt is the HC, OC, and QB coach. It's all on him to get this sorted out.

That being said, I expect a much better performance by the offense tonight. They are angry.

UVA has far more talent. In fact, Bronco said before the season that he had maybe 27 at most ACC caliber players on his roster. I’m going to hate to see what happens when he has 60 or 65.

I love the percentages of teams you expect some of these players to start on. Boulware was a starter (or at least was in the rotation at Tennessee). So I'm sure Boulware could likely find himself starting on teams in other conferences. Out of everything you've said, the only thing credible is Scaife being at RT given that he's a true freshman. That's where you want experienced players given that the trenches is a man's game.

It's year 3, we can stop using not having a QB as an excuse for Richt not being able to run his offense successfully. He's had time to bring in his guy(s) and get them coached up. Given that he goes back to Rosier's limited skill set lets you know that he either A) Didn't recruit the right guys and/or B) Didn't know how to develop them. If it's the latter, than why are your QBs not developing? Why can't your QBs breakdown coverages (like UVA did to use two weeks ago)? The answer is very clear. Was Jon Richt the best QB coach that you could've hired? You know that answer.

In terms of our WR core, that's the one position where it really doesn't matter if you're a SR or a FR. There are guys that can immediately step in. You can lump in TE and you'd see it debunks your narrative as Brevin Jordan is arguably the best FR TE in the nation when properly utilized. Also, I think it's fair to say that Harley is not average. I would bet that our WR core is far better than what Purdue rolls out on a week-to-week basis. But what we saw is Brohm use an offense that gets his athletes into space and allow them to spread out Ohio State's defense. It's not the talent that's the problem, it's what everyone has been complaining about since Richt got here - it's the overall scheme, philosophy and general lack of creativity.

You can be as angry as you want but if you lack talent it doesn’t matter. Our best players are freshmen and sophomore. That’s now how you win championships unless your freshmen and sophomores are all 5 star talents like Bama.

Virginia's not a good team.

Did I say UVA has more talent? Their matchup from a defnesivibe verse our offense was definitely to their advantage though. There aren’t many games our offense is truly at an adavantage except games like FIU and Savannah St. that’s just where we are as a program right now offensively.

So because our best players on offense are freshmen and sophmores, we can't beat UVA? Makes sense now.

So much wrong here. If you rely on out-talenting every team, you're not a good coach. But that's what Richt does, hope that he can out-talent teams. And even then, it doesn't always work out.

Richt runs a pro style type offense and always has. He doesn’t have the players that fit his scheme unfortunately and you are correct he won’t adjust his 30yr old playbook. He wants big blocking WR and a dominant line to run the ball behind. He only takes shots when he can set it up with the play action. Welp we don’t have a line to be able to do that. It a combination of scheme and overal talent.

Also Boulware rotated snaps on a UT team that went 0-8 in the SEC and was one of the worst in college football hahaha thanks for making my point. We got a transfer we are expecting to be some All-ACC guard. He is serviceable that is it.

It's actually not. This is not an excuse for losing to UVA.

I’m not bringing up UVA. Why do y’all bring them up immediately. I’m taking about our offense overall verse the defense we face. I’m not talking about our overall team verse others teams. Strictly offense.
