Very sad story. Current stats show that pro football players are 4x as likely as the general population for contracting ALS. If accurate this needs to be discussed.

Incredibly sad. He was an incredible player in his prime. ALS in contact sports athletes isn’t talked about enough. The chance of being diagnosed with ALS is significantly higher in athletes who played football, hockey, rugby and others.

Any serious conversation regarding how a man like Chris Johnson can all of a sudden come down with ALS at 39… that’s so rapid now can no longer speak after one year of being diagnosed… can’t start and end with CTE. What this man is going through ain’t normal and there has never been an example of this tied to “CTE.” This is fckd up and I’m ****ed

He should look into Neuralink. Replaced the Eye-Gaze system he currently uses. And at least it gives you some more autonomy and at least be apart of something to further help fight against that disease. Cause once you get to that stage the war is lost. Just about makjng your time remaining as positive as possible.

if you guys could remember CJ had a "tick" or shiver thing when he spoke. So maybe he had pre neurological issues that sped up the als...cause dude was lookign and acting normal under 2 years ago.

I lost someone in my family to ALS ~5 years ago. Seeing what that disease did to someone so vibrant and full of life was beyond what i could comprehend. It's truly heartbreaking.
