Former Cane Brandon Meriweather's restaurant in Orlando

U fortunately living in J-Ville, we are behind all of the other major Florida cities when it comes to the best culinary spots. Enza’s is a fanstatic restaurant here in the Mandarin area. Otherwise, most of the good spots are around Riverside/Avondale area, the beaches, or St Augustine. You can get some great local shrimp up in St Augustine if you know where the local spots are located, and not the chain places.

Especially for a New Yorker. Most are sure there is no good pizza outside the city. For me the best pizza and garlic rolls I ever ate was from Marcella’s in Dade county. Momma had a couple spots but the one on NW 183rd was home base. Ruined me for pizza and rolls ever since.
I loved teacher work days when mom taught at Norland. Guaranteed Marcella's stop. Husky size kid's dream.

Guy that bought it from Momma opened another years ago out in west Miramar and after he sold that he opened one in Delray. Got couple years of good pizza and rolls until he sold it. But I noticed his rolls were missing something from Momma’s. She must kept something out of the recipe. You had to add some salt to make it taste like hers.

I ran into one at the rear of Loehman's plaza early 90's maybe. Like you said, it wasn't the same.

Sorry for the late reply, You obviously have eaten better than me in your life considering the career and pedigree. But I have to ask why Frisco ?? Was your assessment based off fine dining? I probably wasn't clear, I was coming from a more pedestrian perspective such as Burgers, Brats, Gyros and the like.
San Fran is a Culinary Dream....Great Italian especially....

I have to concede, since you are coming from that perspective. Be interesting to hear your take on the cities with the best street fair/comfort food.
Tough one....I'm 1/2 Italian (Mom) and 1/2 ****** (Dad)...so as you can imagine, food was plentiful growing up....For comfort food (******)...Gotta go with Ben's Best in Queens N.Y.....INSANE ****** Deli food.....For comfort food (Italian...aside from my Mom)...too numerous to mention...although a Lg Cheese Pizza from Totonno's in N.Y (Coney Island Brooklyn) is something everyone needs to try before passing....as far as street fare goes...there's a Korean Barbecue Food Truck here in Orlando, with Korean Short-Rib Tacos which are life changing....

I’ve had Ben’s Best twice.

Disappointing both times.

Katz’s is the gold standard.

I lived on 83rd and Morgan for a couple years.

Good times. I miss Leon's BBQ. Especially the wings.

Never been, but I heard Chicago is very underrated when it comes to BBQ...seems like those aquarium grills are the way to go.

Tried Memphis BBQ, OK, but nothing to write home about.
