Former BTW 5*Ja’Corey Brooks not starting for Bama...

Brooks isn't a surprise.. wasn't he one of the WRs that Saban "called out" earlier this year for not stepping up when the other WRs went down?

Think he transferred after spring as was injured in offseason, see how it plays out as he fully recovers

“First of all, he had a sprained foot for a while, so he wasn’t able to practice all the time,” Saban said, via On3 Sports. “But now, probably the last scrimmage and this week — Tuesday, Wednesday of this week — he’s starting to get more reps. I think he’s starting to get more confident. I do think that he’s a guy that, because of his speed, can help us. I think he’s got to continue to make progress and we’re certainly working with him and he’s had a great attitude about doing it. We’ll just sort of keep on keeping on with him.”

Dude won’t even be able to play this year. If he can’t start somewhere else and can’t help you immediately, is he really worth it?

We got some size, but need a 6'-6'2" speed Guy. Hykeem Wms or Jurrion ****ey would be ideal. We got Robby and Joseph both game breaking speed guys, but we must balance the class with a bigger receiver.

Lmao he’s a sophomore. He has plenty of time. He will take over for one of those dudes by seasons end.

Let's be real. Most of this board gushed over a WR that wasn't good/healthy enough to start more than a handful of games at Clemson over 3 seasons.

That said, we have several WRs on the roster right now who aren't good enough to start here, and our presumed starters at WR wouldn't start at Bama. Meanwhile Brooks is a 6'2" true sophomore who appeared in every game for Bama last season and is their second team Z WR. If he could magically get put on our roster today, he'd snatch a starting job by the time we start ACC play. But it's all a pipe dream, and even if he had the slightest interest in transferring here, he wouldn't be able to help us this season...

We've got no choice but to dance with the girls we brought to the party.

He's not a bust ...Yet. However just because he was rated a 5* doesn't make him an elite WR. Rambo was a #1 here out of necessity if we had better WRs he would not have been.

Him potentially starting here is more of an indictment on our roster than a praise of Brooks. It's easier being the 3rd or 4th option and making plays opposed to the #1 as evidenced by the championship game. Also he has been called out on numerous occasions by Saban for poor work ethic. Again anyone that wants Brooks isn't looking at tape they're looking at 247.

Yes, but so what? Improve the roster.

Sample size based on 1 game as a TF. Don't be a prisoner of the moment.

Motivation. Saban wouldn't waste his breath if the kid wasn't talented.

He was overrated as a 5*. Agreed. But anyone claiming they wouldn't take him on this team is basing that on an overreaction to the 247 ranking, not his tape.
